I love NovaLager yeast! It's changed my lager brewing forever. It's the real deal. A true game-changer. Glad to see you guys agree. The Lallemand Nottingham is also great in my experience. I laughed out loud when you guys sang "smoke on the porter!" Great video. Cheers!
I love my IPA's but you can't beat a nice crisp, quality lager on a hot summer's day! I've done two all grain brews with Nova lager, (my own Stella Nova and my Spike Island Helles) . Both turned out great. Highly recommend Nova lager yeast !! The thing that's always put me off brewing lager, is how long you have to wait before you can drink the final product. Nova lager solves this problem. And I know you guys aren't lager louts , so your high rating speaks volumes. 🍻
Some great looking beers again, I agree not so fond of Smokey in beers one now and again maybe but that’s why we have different tastes. Love neck oil so looking forward to seeing that one 👍 I need some nova lager yeast in my life nice one cheers 👍🍻
Hi d&p. When you did the Dark rock Birra Italia did you larger it in your keg prior to carbonation and if so for how long. Thanks for great videos. Keep it up. Pat
Hi Patrick. I'm supping a keg now, after lagering for 2 months. It really needs this time. It was drinkable from the start but I felt there was something missing - It just tasted boring. After conditioning for two months, it tastes like a premium draught lager. I was very surprised to discover this, but I'm glad that I waited. Served at 4°C at around 15 psi.
Hi there lads, I have Bria Italia on tap, and it's a fantastic Drink, I am sorry to say but brother Alan is a IPA man, and dark beer is not his thing, mild was my favourite drink growing up in the west midlands but moving to Yorkshire ,I have turned to Best Bitter, 10 X 10 for Dark Rock 👍 all the best chaps 🍺
im suppin the wainrights clone kit now, its ok, got the other three new kits at the same time, i think im going to pimp them up a bit, I made the same mistake with the muntons flagship, one is by far the best, some are ok, and the stout is rubbish
Great video as always guys, With the novo lager yeast do you have to do a diacetyl rest? And I assume you can do away with the lagering at the end as well, you can just bottle/keg it let it condition and drink?
Hi. Can you remember what temp you fermented the nova lager yeast at. I’m going to make the dark rock birra and wondering if it’s better at lower temp. Cheers
Im not a big lager drinker but I really liked the Birra Italia. It has a bit more of a malty body and character to it, and reminded me a little of Peroni Gran Riserva. Just used the standard yeast at the time, and just kept it around 19C. Got the DR Nectar Oil just ending fermentation. First time using liquid yeast on that one 👍
@@mikebeswick3420 Cant remember the yeast that was supplied with the kit at the time, but fairly sure it was an ale yeast with optimum temp between 18-20C. It was before you had a choice of what was supplied. Would probably go for the Nova-lager yeast next time.

Just normal room temp ,in the summer,
Nova yeast as a range from about 10 to 20 degrees if I remember rightly
