Great review/comparison video!!! You brought out some details that I wouldn't have noticed. Both bags are great, but I slightly prefer the Sydney. The feet on the bottom and plain front w/1 outside pocket on back for phone is perfect. I keep going back to that bag even though I have a big collection of bags. I double up my strap for short shoulder length and added 1 extra hole to lengthen it a tad. TFS.

I have also had frustrating experienced with fossils customer care people! They seem to have little idea of what's going on and the emails they say will arrive never do! Still, their bags are great! I've been tempted to order some off of DSW. My Kinley is there for only $70!

Great comparison!👍 They both have their pros and cons. I owned a Black Sydney Satchel, the version with the cc slots and key holder, but I sold it because my intent was to use it more as a crossbody but it just looked awkward on me. I'm definitely not a satchel gal, lol!😂 The leather was nice and substantial too, it was a smooth leather texture but not coated like the Rachel. The Rachel is a nice design too and I love the wider outside pockets. The only issue I have with it is that they use PVC trim, so it's not all leather. Fossil is doing that on a lot of their bags so you have to read the description very carefully. The Sydney Satchel is a nice classic style and I'm glad they brought it back since it was a very popular style. Hopefully the newer version holds up well too. I love Fossil bags and wallets too but I'm not buying as much for the moment. I almost bought a wallet, twice throught Macy's but cancelled the orders because I had my doubts. Finally, decided to go to a store that actually carried the wallet/color to see it in person. The store was much further away but worth the drive because I was not too impressed with the wallet in person, lol!😬 The color was completely off from the website, so I saved myself the trouble of having to return it if I bought it. Hi! You had the best version of the Sydney. I would love to find that version now. The black is gorgeous! It was a good idea to go to the store if at all possible.. It seems a lot of deliveries are disappointing. You never know what you are going to get and then you have to wait until they receive it and then wait until the refund is credited. It is much easier to go to the store and pick out what you like or realize the item is not what you wanted. I don't. mind the PVC trim on this particular bag. I don't think it is noticeably plastic. As long as they disclose what they use then I am okay with it. All is well here. I hope you and your family are doing well. I am about to travel. I'll be away for 8 days. I love the two outer pockets the Rachel has & the lighter lining inside, but I like the way the handles are sew on the Sydney better. I think if I had bought the Sydney I would of loved it but when the Rachel came out I would wish I had it instead because of the pockets & lining. Thank you for this comparison. I fell in love with the Sydney satchel when i saw it the first time on RUclips. Been looking for it ever since. But it is not available in Holland. The Rachel is. I found the Sydney for a decent price on Ebay,a few days ago. Its new with tags in black. Cant wait to see it in person. It comes from the UK,so within a week or so,i hope it arrives. On the Sidney bag you can tell if from the outlet if there are no diamonds under the brand name on front of the bag. There should be three diamonds with the middle diamond colored . If no diamonds then it is outlet.

My work bag is a very large Fossil bag that I used to use as a handbag. The leather is still beautiful,and it has served me well. Time for another Fossil, I guess. I didn't see the solid brown Sydney but they do have one in brown with, what seems to be, varsity type stripes in the center. They also have a Navy and a Black. Good luck! OMG I just purchased this very same Fossil Sydney bag at the thrift store for 3.50!!!!! It's brand new!!! Three dollars and fifty cents! Unbelievable! I wouldn't have bought it had it not been new even for that price because I have a few Fossil vintage bags and never carry them. I remember this video when I seen the bag and had not been for this video I certainly wouldn't have purchased it. I'm going to gift it to my friend for her birthday next week LOL! And mine is the original one not the newest one, they left out some features on the newest one I did some research. Whoever had my bag NEVER used it!! The original one comes with a key and the newest one doesn't. And the heat stamp on the front is different also, the back pocket is wider on the original one also. The original one has a key ring and card pockets inside.

A K Hi! Thank you. Why do you think your Sydney is from the outlet? The supervisor I spoke with assured me the bag they were shipping me is not an outlet bag but, even if it was, I would still want to keep it. Forty years ago my husband was a trapper and sold skins. He still sells leathers he gets from wholesalers. He does not hunt ever since he met me. In the two particular bags I showed, and your bag can very well be different from mine, he preferred the Sydney. As I said, he liked how the Sydney was sewn as opposed to Rachel. Of course, if you have a different bag your bag might be different leather as hides are different. I am not saying this is the best leather. In my experience with Fossil through the yeas I feel my bag is comparable in feel and overt quality to my previous Emma and Fiona. I’m surprised everyone in the comments section prefer the Sydney. I have both and the Sydney is made with cheaper materials and is the outlet version of the Rachel that has more expensive features like the key, lining, etc

I love the Sydney. That is definitely not the outlet version. The outlet Sydney has no feet and the leather is thinner. I found some outlet versions at Marshalls and I still really like them. The light leather is a nice break from the heaviness of my Dooneys.

Do you know if this bag is leather with polyurethane trim? Some of fossil's bags now say that in the description of the outside material, like the Rachel satchel. This bag, as of today's website description, it's an outlet bag. It does only say leather in the description, but I am pretty sure a few months back it said leather with PU trim.
Hi..Yes, I do think it has a PU trim. It doesn't bother me at all. It is a great bag in my opinion. I have worn it in the rain and it dried without spots. so lightweight and the mouth opens so wide. Thank you so much for watchng 💕

Hi Kash, I have carried Fossil exclusively for many years before I got into RUclips and explored other brands! I think Fossil makes a beautiful bag. The leather is really nice for the price. It is thinner than the leather Dooney or Coach uses in most cases. I love my Fossil Sydney. It has held up very well. Also, because the price is more reasonable, I am not afraid to use it daily. My Sydney has almost smooth leather and it has not received any scratches so far. The smooth leather of many other brands often gets scratches easily. I ended up getting a Sydney not in this color . But I love it so much that I want to get more colors. All my things fit and I can still pack it light too . It feels amazingly soft and I love using it. Crossbody strap is nice bag is pretty light.

I love fossil. I have three fossil bags. One of the fossil bags cost $48 at Macy’s and a matching wallet for $33 what a steal. I think it’s the fossil website you’re having problems with. You should’ve bought your bags from Macy’s. I have a Rachel but the whole thing isn’t leather. It’s the brown, cream and gold print.

Why can you just buy fossil from somewhere else like Zappos? Zappos is a great company. They also do price adjustments and they have a 365 day return policy. I bought a second Rachel a color blocking one. They price matched it to the fossil website. Fossil is a very affordable brand.

They do put bags on sale that they want to move so they can offer the new line. Minkoff has some beautiful leather. I didn't get anything during the 30% off sale this time. many of the bags I liked were too heavy for me. If you get anything please let me know 💕

Great review/comparison video!!! You brought out some details that I wouldn't have noticed. Both bags are great, but I slightly prefer the Sydney. The feet on the bottom and plain front w/1 outside pocket on back for phone is perfect. I keep going back to that bag even though I have a big collection of bags. I double up my strap for short shoulder length and added 1 extra hole to lengthen it a tad. TFS.

I have also had frustrating experienced with fossils customer care people! They seem to have little idea of what's going on and the emails they say will arrive never do! Still, their bags are great! I've been tempted to order some off of DSW. My Kinley is there for only $70!

Great comparison!👍 They both have their pros and cons. I owned a Black Sydney Satchel, the version with the cc slots and key holder, but I sold it because my intent was to use it more as a crossbody but it just looked awkward on me. I'm definitely not a satchel gal, lol!😂 The leather was nice and substantial too, it was a smooth leather texture but not coated like the Rachel. The Rachel is a nice design too and I love the wider outside pockets. The only issue I have with it is that they use PVC trim, so it's not all leather. Fossil is doing that on a lot of their bags so you have to read the description very carefully. The Sydney Satchel is a nice classic style and I'm glad they brought it back since it was a very popular style. Hopefully the newer version holds up well too. I love Fossil bags and wallets too but I'm not buying as much for the moment. I almost bought a wallet, twice throught Macy's but cancelled the orders because I had my doubts. Finally, decided to go to a store that actually carried the wallet/color to see it in person. The store was much further away but worth the drive because I was not too impressed with the wallet in person, lol!😬 The color was completely off from the website, so I saved myself the trouble of having to return it if I bought it. Hi! You had the best version of the Sydney. I would love to find that version now. The black is gorgeous! It was a good idea to go to the store if at all possible.. It seems a lot of deliveries are disappointing. You never know what you are going to get and then you have to wait until they receive it and then wait until the refund is credited. It is much easier to go to the store and pick out what you like or realize the item is not what you wanted. I don't. mind the PVC trim on this particular bag. I don't think it is noticeably plastic. As long as they disclose what they use then I am okay with it. All is well here. I hope you and your family are doing well. I am about to travel. I'll be away for 8 days. I love the two outer pockets the Rachel has & the lighter lining inside, but I like the way the handles are sew on the Sydney better. I think if I had bought the Sydney I would of loved it but when the Rachel came out I would wish I had it instead because of the pockets & lining. Thank you for this comparison. I fell in love with the Sydney satchel when i saw it the first time on RUclips. Been looking for it ever since. But it is not available in Holland. The Rachel is. I found the Sydney for a decent price on Ebay,a few days ago. Its new with tags in black. Cant wait to see it in person. It comes from the UK,so within a week or so,i hope it arrives. I also ordered 2 Rachel bags,to see if i like that too. Hopefully i don't like them LoL. I watch a lot of planner videos,thats where i saw the Sydney first.

On the Sidney bag you can tell if from the outlet if there are no diamonds under the brand name on front of the bag. There should be three diamonds with the middle diamond colored . If no diamonds then it is outlet.

My work bag is a very large Fossil bag that I used to use as a handbag. The leather is still beautiful,and it has served me well. Time for another Fossil, I guess. OMG I just purchased this very same Fossil Sydney bag at the thrift store for 3.50!!!!! It's brand new!!! Three dollars and fifty cents! Unbelievable! I wouldn't have bought it had it not been new even for that price because I have a few Fossil vintage bags and never carry them. I remember this video when I seen the bag and had not been for this video I certainly wouldn't have purchased it. I'm going to gift it to my friend for her birthday next week LOL! PS, mine has silver hardware and silver Fossil heat stamp on the front. And mine is the original one not the newest one, they left out some features on the newest one I did some research. Whoever had my bag NEVER used it!! The original one comes with a key and the newest one doesn't. And the heat stamp on the front is different also, the back pocket is wider on the original one also. The original one has a key ring and card pockets inside.

A K Hi! Thank you. Why do you think your Sydney is from the outlet? The supervisor I spoke with assured me the bag they were shipping me is not an outlet bag but, even if it was, I would still want to keep it. Forty years ago my husband was a trapper and sold skins. He still sells leathers he gets from wholesalers. He does not hunt ever since he met me. In the two particular bags I showed, and your bag can very well be different from mine, he preferred the Sydney. As I said, he liked how the Sydney was sewn as opposed to Rachel. Of course, if you have a different bag your bag might be different leather as hides are different. I am not saying this is the best leather. In my experience with Fossil through the yeas I feel my bag is comparable in feel and overt quality to my previous Emma and Fiona. I’m surprised everyone in the comments section prefer the Sydney. I have both and the Sydney is made with cheaper materials and is the outlet version of the Rachel that has more expensive features like the key, lining, etc

I love the Sydney. That is definitely not the outlet version. The outlet Sydney has no feet and the leather is thinner. I found some outlet versions at Marshalls and I still really like them. The light leather is a nice break from the heaviness of my Dooneys.

Hi..Thank you. Yes! The Sydney is awesome! I am glad to hear you love your Sydney too. I use pom poms that have a ring which opens so that it can be placed around the handle. I use poms by the company FERAND. They provides two rings, silver tone and gold tone, to match the hardware. Their poms are very well made. Seems like good customer service is rare anymore 😥. Even seeing some really upset customers of Dooney regarding returns and refunds. Those Fossil satchels are classic and I might get one one of these days. Hope you don't have anymore negative experiences with Fossil.

Do you know if this bag is leather with polyurethane trim? Some of fossil's bags now say that in the description of the outside material, like the Rachel satchel. This bag, as of today's website description, it's an outlet bag. It does only say leather in the description, but I am pretty sure a few months back it said leather with PU trim.
Hi..Yes, I do think it has a PU trim. It doesn't bother me at all. It is a great bag in my opinion. I have worn it in the rain and it dried without spots. so lightweight and the mouth opens so wide. Thank you so much for watchng 💕

Hi Kash, I have carried Fossil exclusively for many years before I got into RUclips and explored other brands! I think Fossil makes a beautiful bag. The leather is really nice for the price. It is thinner than the leather Dooney or Coach uses in most cases. I love my Fossil Sydney. It has held up very well. Also, because the price is more reasonable, I am not afraid to use it daily. My Sydney has almost smooth leather and it has not received any scratches so far. The smooth leather of many other brands often gets scratches easily. Great review !! Sorry for the way you where treated by fossil . My daughter loves the Sydney bag . I gave it to her. And she isn’t easy on her bags having had it all through college and it looks great . She says it more lighter in weight. It holds a huge amount. They are both beautiful bags and love the color. Xo😍

I ended up getting a Sydney not in this color . But I love it so much that I want to get more colors. All my things fit and I can still pack it light too . It feels amazingly soft and I love using it. Crossbody strap is nice bag is pretty light.

I love fossil. I have three fossil bags. One of the fossil bags cost $48 at Macy’s and a matching wallet for $33 what a steal. I think it’s the fossil website you’re having problems with. You should’ve bought your bags from Macy’s. I have a Rachel but the whole thing isn’t leather. It’s the brown, cream and gold print.

Why can you just buy fossil from somewhere else like Zappos? Zappos is a great company. They also do price adjustments and they have a 365 day return policy. I bought a second Rachel a color blocking one. They price matched it to the fossil website. Fossil is a very affordable brand.

Yes, Coach, as heres 30% off but only on stuf that doesnt sell. I often wonder why do I buy their bags. Lately buying alot of R.minkoff, Milly, F.valentine. Coach is getting boring.😴
They do put bags on sale that they want to move so they can offer the new line. Minkoff has some beautiful leather. I didn't get anything during the 30% off sale this time. many of the bags I liked were too heavy for me. If you get anything please let me know 💕
