Iam from Papua New Guinea but I really admire this gentleman Prof Patrick Mulumba,s speech.... what a great , a very deciplined, highly educated gentleman.
PLO Lumumba should be the president of Kenya. He is visionary and exemplifies wisdom, integrity, humility, empathy, intelligence and many other qualities that a true leader should have.
I don't agree. PLO is good at he does now. He is a good teacher. Given the presidency we may quickly forget him. That's not what I would love for him.
Professor Lumumba has been sent by God to open the eyes and ears of all Africans to see hear and do all that is pivotal for Africa to prosper globally.
Professor Lumumbo neglected to point out that education only succeeds in as much as it teaches a man or woman how to think. Education is not what you know, it is how you use what you know. In that sense, a man may selectively choose his education with the explicit intention of overcoming his inherent difficulties. This is true education for any man. In some instances even in the absence of the formality of learning but with an ability to read and write a man can grow and develop a capacity for thinking that places him beyond the greatest expectations. A man may be a tradesman, a creative or scientist whatever he may choose to be excellence is the only criteria. Excellence is the height of education. Dream of perfection, long for it and the line and direction of the necessary training reveals itself to the inquiring man who questions the limits he encounters. This is thinking: the obstacles one discovers and then finds a way to overcome. In a place as vast and diverse as Africa any man should become successful by virtue of his ardent dreams and wishes and the proper knowledge of himself. What is an education if men are not moved to action or prosperity?

Prof. PLO kindly may you try to reach the lower class of people who can't afford to be in these places where you give your talks. They may not afford to pay you. The ideas you have will change their way of thinking and society. Think of the folks in Kibra, Kayole, Huruma, etc. Will you?
