Perhaps you have come across the term “data engineering” when reading about databases, but what is it exactly? I’ll explain that in detail in this video.
Data Engineering is a fairly new term in IT that is getting more and more attention. You may have heard about a few similar fields like data science, Big Data, and machine learning, so we’ll also explain how data engineers can help experts from those fields.
Data Engineers create and maintain the infrastructure necessary to store and process large amounts of data. They identify the kind of data that can be acquired and make sure that the collection process meets the business requirements and industry standards.
Data Engineers create data pipelines and flows, and they make sure that the processing of big amounts of information is performed correctly and as efficiently as possible. They also create database structures to store the data they collect, and they make sure that all the information is persisted securely.
