It's a real problem. After putting in the time and money for the education you can guess how hard it would be to say "I don't like this, despite the great pay, I think I'll go back to school". Also, I'm not an RN, I'm an RT, but once I got really burnt out and got out of healthcare for 2 years. It was incredibly hard to get a job, I was unemployed for 9 months and only got jobs through contacts. With eally less pay. But I couldn't keep on working not caring about the patients. And then, some people are just sociopaths-up to 25% according to some studies.
The nurse that helped out with me after my epilepsy came back with full force and landed me in the hospital along with my son cause I dropped him (he is okay) the nurse jokingly said something about how she is working with all the babies tonight.
6:46 honestly. You know which patients press the call light for when they actually need something and those who always call for the most ridiculous things. Like between one who only calls when they need help getting up from bed to use the restroom or the other who calls to complain about the temperature in the room or to pick something up thats right next to them when they can get up, you are going to prioritize the one who actually needs the help than the one who calls for something that can wait when there are multiple lights going off.
Nurses work REALLY hard...in my opinion harder than doctors. (You won't see a doctor taking your temp, getting you water or a blanket, making sure you get your pain meds, etc.) We all need to appreciate what they do for us. We are not their only patient. They work long hours and have other patients who are worse than we are. Personally, when I need something, I try to get it or do it on my own instead of hitting the call button. But only if it is safe. I've been in a room with other patients and get frustrated when they call for stuff they can do/get on their own. If everyone stopped calling for a straw, more water, Kleenex, etc. it would make it so that they can spend the time they need with other more serious patients. And when you are discharged or are leaving an appointment, take a minute to thank them for being there and helping us. Trust me, it will make them happy.
Debbie Green that is so true! thank you very much for understanding that. i‘m a certified nurse and some of my patients (i always have ~16 patients) get little to no time with me because of other patients who can actually walk but ring the bell for irrelevant things
My problem with the “faking it” question, is that sometimes that’s a perception. I was having severe chest pain and shortness of breath for 3 days and was told to go to the ER. After I walked there, I had a nurse laugh at me bc EKG didn’t show anything.
My dad was cracking up all his nurses and his doctors, he was a pretty funny guy and he was dying of cancer but he used humor to cope so all his nurses loved him because he stayed up beat and was funny without being inappropriate
If you're nice to nurses they will truly do whatever you want. I go a lot to the hospital and is always nice to them, but not as much as after my appendix surgery. I was high as hell and really wanted the ice cream a nurse had offered me 15 minutes before so I told my mom to go find the pretty blonde nurse. There were two and my mom found the wrong one, but the nurse was so flattered and really nice to me through out my stay. Like you could tell that this had never happened before. Nurses are a God send when the doctors don't care about you at all
I went to the ER one time and I was there for HOURS and when I eventually got a room I pressed the call button, and was very hesitant to do it. I had to have a IV and it was giving me extreme pain. So a nurse came in and helped me the best she could. I apologized to her because I knew she was busy and she was so sweet about it. She also gave me filtered water from the nurses station instead of the sink where other patients were getting there’s. I appreciated her😂💜
Thanks for being honest. So long as no one's life is in danger though I am a chronically I'll person and not a nurse, I agree with moving someone to the back of the line for poor behavior. I am agoraphobic so nurses are mostly the only people I get to interact with when I do have to go out. Whether it's a doctor appointment or E.R. I had one nurse recently in a horrible mood and I acknowledged her mood and told her it was okay and she changed her mood for me. I am so grateful. Nurses I have found are kind and I appreciate it very much.
Christina Yates true, but i bet if it was a severe thing, she would have let it go. If you’re rushed in by ambulance, I doubt there’s much time to be rude to a nurse
Tbh the nurse that did say yes to that should absolutely be reviewed by her employer. It's something that you just don't do and isn't ok. At the end of the day a person has to wait hours before seeing a dr in the hospital depending on where your from, and having a spiteful nurse making you wait longer is insane.
if you really need to be rushed to the er you can't be rude to nurses. they probably meant they made them wait longer because they were rude for no reason
When you work at the ER it's too crowded and it's messy and usually the rude patients are the people who don't want to wait because they think they're too good for that and in most cases, they aren't in real life threatening danger. When you've worked for a long time, you can tell the state of the patient, just by looking at them. No one who's feeling unwell will dramatize and yell at a nurse.
@@icedcoffeeb4900 there are some people who have mental illness like anxiety and in those situations it makes things worse. So now you have a spiteful nurse that pushed a person down the list who could go into a full blown panic attack due to their mental illness. Just cuz someone is a nurse doesn't mean they are able to tell if the px the person just bumped is going to get worse physically or mentally.
ha hahah Not necessarily. A lot of nurses are mistreated (in hospital settings especially), overworked, and treated as expendable. It doesn’t matter what the job is or how much you love something, if a selfish money-driven company without morals abuses you happiness is not in your path. This is coming from a future med student and pharmacy tech.
In general i have more respect and admiration for nurses than doctors. Not to discredit doctors for their hard work but nurses put up with alot. Cheers to all nurses 👏🙌
Am 12 and my mom has been a nurse for I think she told me 19 years that's about 20 years that pretty cool and my mom is is da best I love nurses for what they do
Props to these nurses for hiding the fact that sometimes you want to laugh at some patients. When I got hospitalized the first time I was so confused, I had high fever and couldn't really see things clearly, so I would ask nurses a lot of questions and then hear them laughing at me right behind the door. It's awful, please be aware of that.
I got sent home from a hospital while having PAC, numb arms, and dizziness bc they think i have vertigo despite negative ear infection and no visual symptoms. The nurse think i was over reacting.
Back to November i had to go for the first time to ER (im 19 yr) and i was so scared, but I remember the nurse who was taking care of me that never left me She was always checking on me every 1/2 minutes cause she saw i was a little bit anxious + sick She was a kind soul and helped me. Thanks to her I understood that i want to be a nurse b”h
"They think of it as room service" Truer words have yet to be spoken. I had a patient who would use the bell for EVERYTHING like he would want me to pour him his water when he had water and a cup like 20cm away from him. One would call us to feed him even though he is entirely capable on his own. There was a patient who decided that she didnt want to get up at night to pee so she would call and ask that we DRAINED HER URINE FOR HER!! One patient would call us to get him juice every 30 minutes!! He didnt drink any water just juice all day AND NIGHT. Had a patient who called fir us to switch tv station for him WITH HIS REMOTE CONTROL. This are a few exemple... So when patient like thes are on a unit for several week after 2 weeks we take more time to answer your call light because this is the kind of need we expect.... Yes call light are important but patient need to know that we have a job to do that isnt to nurture them... we are not your mom and you are not 6. (Well if you're in peds it's another story)

The girl in blue IS SO MUCH LIKE AUNTIE HILDA IN SABRINA I CAN NEVER UNSEE IT.
And now these people are hero’s
There are a lot of great nurses out there. But there are also a lot of terrible and unethical nurses, unfortunately.
Barbara Danley despite the great pay? 😂
@@bcaye what does RT stand for, I'm foreign so I'm not familiar
Yes. As a nurse for 30 years so far I can definitely tell you this is true
I'm pretty sure telling a doctor to see the person last is basically the same thing as moving them later down a wait list.
Nurses are the only people who have ever made my stay at the hospital bearable you guys are literally angels on Earth
@@ishouldbeasleep I'm sure that it is very frustrating for you. Let me say to you, thank you for all that you do. =)
I'm a registered nurse and this made me so happy to read! Thank you 😊
Debbie Green you are a true sweetheart!
@@0kelsomo0 Thank YOU!
A lot of nurses are so beautiful.
buzzfeed: How many never have i ever videos should we make?
director: yes
When I fractured my shoulder the nurse at the hospital was the nicest person ever!
YESSSS. PLEASE DO MORE NURSE RELATED VIDEOS. Love another fellow nurse
My problem with the “faking it” question, is that sometimes that’s a perception. I was having severe chest pain and shortness of breath for 3 days and was told to go to the ER. After I walked there, I had a nurse laugh at me bc EKG didn’t show anything.
Thank you to all nurses!!!! You are rock stars!!
The nurse in blue is very beautiful
3:23-3:45 thanks for the visuals bro...that's something your mind can't unsee...
My dad was cracking up all his nurses and his doctors, he was a pretty funny guy and he was dying of cancer but he used humor to cope so all his nurses loved him because he stayed up beat and was funny without being inappropriate
ER nurses are so wonderful! i had to go recently for a dislocated kneecap and they were so nice to me and so friendly :) love them so much!
Prioritized the call light !!!! Dude you have a way with words hahahahaha. Dear lord
I love how they can relate and get along so well even thought they don’t know each other
If you're nice to nurses they will truly do whatever you want. Nurses are a God send when the doctors don't care about you at all
The nurse with blue top looks like the girl from the kissing booth, they look exactly the same..
I live the nurse in the blue!! She sooo real and down to earth 🌍
"You can go to the nursing home.Bye bye"
😂😂
lol true
All nurses have that *ONE* patient they'll always remember!
4:38 had me cracking up 😂 “All right, L'Chaim!”
I appreciated her😂💜
Of course 2/4 would be Filipinos.
2/4 are also white tho hahaha
Why is it obv? Are most of the filipinos nurses?
Teresa Thomas yup
@@Helloowhyyyyy filipinos are very known for hospitality and thats why a lot of them choose nursing too bcos of a looot of good offers overseas
Teresa Thomas ya it’s a stereotype
I love nurses. They’re awesome. My mom’s a recovery nurse and she’s really cool.
I appreciate nurses.
They should not make people wait to be medically treated based on their attitude. It should only be based on their medical needs and severity.
Damn 12 hour shifts... I'm glad that in my country it's just 8 hours.. Which is already intense ..
I'm a nurse and clearly this guy's get paid 3 to 4 times more than me cause their to happy and fill with joy.
Or maybe youre in the wrong profession?
ha hahah Not necessarily. A lot of nurses are mistreated (in hospital settings especially), overworked, and treated as expendable. It doesn’t matter what the job is or how much you love something, if a selfish money-driven company without morals abuses you happiness is not in your path. This is coming from a future med student and pharmacy tech.
It's "they're" (they are), not "their" (personal possessive). You have a 4-year degree in nursing, so should have a basic grasp of grammar.
da broncobabe ummm typos and autocorrect exist y’know
What's your masters? And where do you live? Nurses make toooones of money in here.
In general i have more respect and admiration for nurses than doctors. Not to discredit doctors for their hard work but nurses put up with alot. Cheers to all nurses 👏🙌
I'm a nursing assistant and I've been in all those situations too! I've been hit on by old guys and seen lots of crazy things happen
This reminds me of the years I worked as an ICU nurse. Flesh-eating bacteria patients were usually the only time I would get queasy.
The fact that my mom works at a nursing home and I know what their talking about and how they feel
I don’t understand why patients can be so rude. These are the people who help you and save your life.
You guys should do a never have I ever: basketball referee edition
Am 12 and my mom has been a nurse for I think she told me 19 years that's about 20 years that pretty cool and my mom is is da best I love nurses for what they do
The camera guy:this is undercover boss.
Them:um........
I feel like nurses have laughed at me before
probably
They’re all probably a delight to work with
I got sent home from a hospital while having PAC, numb arms, and dizziness bc they think i have vertigo despite negative ear infection and no visual symptoms. The nurse think i was over reacting.
Back to November i had to go for the first time to ER (im 19 yr) and i was so scared, but I remember the nurse who was taking care of me that never left me
She was always checking on me every 1/2 minutes cause she saw i was a little bit anxious + sick
She was a kind soul and helped me.
(Well if you're in peds it's another story)
wow!!!
Michelle would be the nurse I would want to have for damn sure..shes out going, chill, and funny
I literally had to run out of a room before because I was laughing at my patients dramatic reaction to a blood test🤣🤣🤣
I would either want the one with the red shirt or the one with the blue shirt they seem so chill and won’t be pressuring
I was on loopy meds once. I started giggling and was hitting on all the nurses. They didn’t like it and I felt bad
“Your mom is dying but I want to take you to dinner” I am crying omg 😂
Kat; I’m single
Doni; looks at Kat quickly
Kim; So if I see someone in their 30’s male
Doni; Rethinks his choices
😂🤣😂
I love the blonde nurse in the blue shirt she’s super honest and funny
I hope they do one with vet techs! I would love to be a part of that or watch the video on it!
Same! Plenty of similarities, but a load of different nuances. Great job, but holy crap I don't know if I'd be able to handle human patients
Can we just thank these nurses they are all probably using up their time to help fight against the Corona virus.
Thank you ❤️
I love how the nurse in the blue shirt can’t take anything seriously lol
I always ignore call lights for patients that thinks it's a hotel.
Sees a Nurse video..
Most likely there will be a filipino in there.
That one girl, so innocent compared to everyone else!
