Andy said in a later interview that, in the long run, losing that playoff game at San Francisco was the biggest blessing in disguise he could've received. He felt that, had Terrell Owens not made The Catch II, the Eagles likely would've hired someone else, as he didn't think the Eagles could've waited another week to hire.

I still remember how he mismanaged the end of the Super bowl against the Patriots. Down by 10, I believe it was, with not a whole lot of time to go in the game and the offense was taking their good old time driving down the field and did score a touchdown but they ran out of time because of Andy Reids mismanagement. Of course Terrell Owens said later that Donovan McNabb was throwing up in the huddle during that drive

People can say whatever they want about Jeff Lurie. And he’s far from perfect. He’s made some mistakes. But a legitimate case could be made that he is the best owner at hiring head coaches in the history of the NFL.
And before anyone jumps down my throat pontificating about Chip Kelly, keep in mind Chip Kelly had more 10 win seasons here than Doug Pederson. Obviously it ended bad. But every single HC he ever hired has been successful. I don’t think people understand how incredibly rare that is.

@@TimeBandit2007 I think what's what got him fired. The press asked Chip a question saying he was GM and Chip's response was he wasn't the GM, which was technically correct as his title wasn't GM but Vice President of Player personel or something of that nature. I was laughing at it given how different from Andy's every answer after a loss was "I take full responsibility".
