يا ربي بالمصطفى بلغ مقاصدنا
O Allah, by virtue of the Chosen Prophet, grant us our requests
واغفر لنا ما مضى يا واسع الكرم

هو الحبيب الذي ترجى شفاعته
He is the beloved one from whom intercession is sought
لكل هول من الاهوال مقتحم
From every terror that might encounter us
يا ربي بالمصطفى بلغ مقاصدنا
O Allah, by virtue of the Chosen Prophet, grant us our requests
واغفر لنا ما مضى يا واسع الكرم

O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon you. You are of great honour and grace
وطر على ناقة الاشواق في سحر
Ride on a camel before dawn, full of longing for him
ما اطيب الوصل حظا حين تقترب
O how beautiful the union is as you approach him
نعم سرى طيف من اهوى فأرقني
Indeed, I have thought of the one whom I long for and I have become sleepless
والحب يعترض اللذات بالالم
The pleasure of love is mixed with aches of longing for him
فالتوسل هو طلب حصول منفعة او اندفاع مضرة من الله بذكر اسم نبي او ولي اكراما للمتوسل به
Tawassul is seeking to gain benefit or to alleviate harm, from Allah, by mentioning a prophet or a righteous Muslim, in honour of the mentioned
الطلب من الله لان الانبياء والاولياء لا يخلقون مضرة ولا منفعة
The request is sought from Allah because the prophets and righteous people do not create any benefit or harm
ولكن نحن نسال الله بهم رجاء تحقيق مطالبنا. فنقول
But we ask Allah by their virtue so that He may grant us our requests. And thus we say
يا ربي بالمصطفى بلغ مقاصدنا
O Allah, by virtue of the Chosen Prophet, grant us our requests
واغفر لنا ما مضى يا واسع الكرم
And erase the traces of our past ugly acts O Generous one
يا خير من دفنت بالترب اعظمه
O the best one of those whose bones have been buried in the soil
فطاب من طيبهن القاع والاكم
And thus, added aroma to the soil from top to bottom
يا رسول الله سلام عليك يا عظيم الجاه والكرم
O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon you. You are of great honour and grace
شد الرحال الى القبر الذي قصدت ترجو التبرك منه العجم والعرب
Make your journey to the grave that both the Arabs and the non-Arabs seek blessings from
محمد سيد الكونين والثقلين
Muhammad is the Master of this life and the Hereafter
والفريقين من عرب ومن عجم
And the Master of humans and jinn

مديحو زاد فينا سرور
Praising him gives us joy
مشي فينا بدرب النور
He guided us to the path of enlightenment

فاق النبيين في خَلق وفي خُلُق
He surpassed the prophets in appearance and mannerism
ولم يدانوه في علم ولا كرم
And they couldn’t reach his level of knowledge and generosity

O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon you. You are of great honour and grace
عظم توله ترنم كرم احترمن اتبع تمسك تنل تعظيمه يجب
Glorify him, love him, sing in praising him, respect him, follow him and uphold his teachings and you shall win. Indeed, glorifying him is an obligation
وانسب الى ذاته ما شئت من شرف وانسب الى قدره ما شئت من عظم
And talk about the nobility of his self, and talk about the greatness of his rank
