Waiting for Leon review (sportstourer with measured full length trunk space with folded seats. We know leon has the smallest and shortest trunk from all other models from this platform. Measuring full trunk length could be tricky as front seats can be in "far or near" position looking by the max length from trunk.
I used to do that every time but I saw watch time decreasing in too long trunk parts so I often skip it now. Seems that not everyone is intested in this
There is gonna be VZ5 version also. There are videos of 5 cyl facelift testing on the Nürburgring. You can distinctly hear 5 cylinder when it accerelates and has Lexus ISF-esque looking exhaust like on the pre-facelift VZ5
I also think there is a 2.0 tsi with 209hp engine. For all of the people complaining and hating, there is NO car on the market that looks this good for the price, if you are going for the looks. Comparing to audi, you get this agressive looks only in RS versions. People will turn heads for your 1.5 car. If you can get this when it's discounted a bit with maybe solid leasing offer, it's a great deal. If the money is stretched I would go for Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo which was ~10k cheaper in my country for some time. That truly is a no brainer for a new, all-around car.
I own the previous gen Formentor as a company car. Yes, it’s not an Audi, but a great value for money. I absolutely dislike those front cupholders, they are ergonomically misplaced . Plastics are cheap, but who cares! The ride quality is great, especially when you want to drive a little bit more sporty. Overall a good car and a menacing front. The new model looks fresh, but not mean anymore…

Regarding sound, a subwoofer or a tweeter have the same basic function: to reproduce sound, regardless of the range of frequencies they handle, therefore, they are speakers. The audible range for humans encompasses up to approximately 20,000 Hz, and a single speaker has a lot of difficulty reproducing all these frequencies accurately. This is why the audio industry has developed the practice of separating frequencies into several bands and sending each group to a specific type of speaker: tweeter for high frequencies, midrange for mid frequencies, and woofer for low frequencies. Low frequencies are sometimes further divided into mid-bass and sub-bass, with the latter handled by the subwoofer. In summary, regardless of the name, if it reproduces sound through a vibrating membrane, it is a speaker. However, it is also true that there are speakers that reproduce sound without a vibrating membrane, such as the Ribbon Technology tweeters used by the manufacturer Adam Audio.

First of all thank you for the very nice review. Not so many updates from the previous generation, but I like the new design and the infotainment upgrade is nice. Also, it's amazing that the PHEV now has double the battery capacity... kinda jealous ngl 😒 Anyways, I'm still happy with my 2021 model :)
Its like Dolby surround sound, 5.1 = 5 speakers, 1 subwoofer, you can hear a subwoofer, but you can't tell where the sound is coming from, thats why you can put it under the boot, or behind a sofa.
@@krane15 Nope. Only in the US, but then they get it wrong all the time. 4WD used by JLR for all their vehicles and even Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini
They absolutely ruined the front. I dont understand why manufacturers are taking an aggressive looking front and making it look soft/cheap. Same as what BMW has done with their 1 Series
1.5 engine TSI or eTSI? According to the official site of Cupra, the engine is coming with MHEV technology. Also skoda named this technology MHEV and the engines are eTSI. There is a 48V battery in the car (Kodiaq, Superb). Is this car the same as I mentioned?
Hi Thomas, so you have a stiffer mount for the middle camera showing the road? At times it wobbles so much I thought you were driving through cobblestones 😂. Maybe use two cords to secure it more? Dunno.. I liked the video thanks for the nice review
Subwoofer is a speaker but it is designated for low frequency sound. We as a buyer want to know if the car has a dedicated subwoofer or a generic speakers.
Just the list price on paper. Nobody buys it for that price. Just look at mobile de, there are tons of vz5's around 40K eur. The most cheapest performance car with 5 cylinder it is a bargain. This will be the same. List price means nothing...
Cheaper than 60K maybe yes but don't be ridiculous, 35K at this point is a fully specced Fabia, you really think the VZ should be the same price as a Fabia?
Wow awesome car & a great review to go with it but im more interested in the new Cupra Leon 333bhp!!! So hopefully you will be getting that as your next review fine sir!!🤞🏻👌🏻👍🏻😃
Can someone explain me the drift mode please, do it drops 100% back or 50% and just disconnect 50% from front? in other words, does drift mode allows a real rear-wheel drive for full power or max 50%. thanks!
torque vectoring in the rear so you get all power from the rear wheels to one side in the rear. Doesnt mean that there is no power in the front, but its enough to make it spin
Luckily sold the pre face-lift 310 hp version for a half price. Those cars are buggy as hell. Although everything is covered by warranty, after some 5th time it gets annoying. Now enjoying Lexus ES300h and would never switch back to VAG.
@@djchristian82 I got steering wheel, vacuum valve and some more minor stuff replaced. Common issues include Brembo brakes, rear view camera etc. Then few times CEL where the issue was never identified.
I'm not sure about the price tho, Tiguan starts at 35k right, how does this starts at 40k is mind blowing. Biggest issue in pre redesign based on my experience was nvh noise although it was comfy suspension and AC controls with laggy unit. Other than that all was fine.
Everyone compares the fanciest versions - maybe it would be worth testing/comparing the basic version of the Porsche 911 992.2 (C2) with the Mercedes AMG GT 43. Such a comparison of rear-wheel drive sports cars would probably be interesting, at least for me.
I seriously considered the previous vzx but I didn't like the blue leather interior that came in most of them also the size was abit too small,if I wanted a small car id get the GOLF R. I ended up with a TIGUAN R
The previous gen was that much better looking. They ruined one the best looking small suvs. Same thing with the new countryman. And its a shame cause they pretty much improved everything else on an already really good vehicle.
First, the subwoofer is most definitely a speaker. So the only reason someone might say 11 speaker plus subwoofer is the specify that one speaker is dedicated solely to low frequency. In general offering a higher quality sound. Second, I abosolutley hate bucket seats. They're the worst idea in the auto industry next to fake exhaust and piano black. This is an SUV and regardless of its sportiness you still need to get comfortable. They may look cool on your daily commute, but take your car on an all-day cross country, and after 8 hours, you will beg for all the adjustments you can get. Especially the headrest which bucket seat don't offer. Bucket seats are built for the demanding driving position of 2-seater sports cars, not family SUVs. They also make the rear area seem claustrophobic. Especially with those low rear seats. Another short-sighted trend I wish carmakers would stop.

pros:

-bigger infotainment screen and new sound system (hopefully better than the Beats in mine)
-padded center console and copper details around the shifter
-back light bar with the Cupra logo
- torque vectoring (although not sure how this benefits the dynamics other than for drifting)
cons:
- front mask/grille , not as aggressive, seems to belong to suit better an electric version/Born
- front lights more mainstream
- lighted touch sliders for volume and aircon (I love the all blacked out sliders on mine, too much lighting is annoying to the eye,
although many criticized them and evidently Cupra/VAG have listened)

I do not like the front bumper, grills etc
I like the rear lights, the logo, i really love the white gauges and the new 13" navi, and also the 12 speakers instead of the beats audio from the previous versions. If i had a choise, i prefer the old one. honestly.
By the way "you should have a different mount for the camera "mounted in sunroof" inside in the car". it is a little "shakely"
I actually loved the formrntor design and even more like the new one
Not so many updates from the previous generation, but I like the new design and the infotainment upgrade is nice.
Also, it's amazing that the PHEV now has double the battery capacity... kinda jealous ngl 😒
Anyways, I'm still happy with my 2021 model :)
Its like Dolby surround sound, 5.1 = 5 speakers, 1 subwoofer, you can hear a subwoofer, but you can't tell where the sound is coming from, thats why you can put it under the boot, or behind a sofa.
I like the headlights of the previous model more. They looked aggressive.
Is the 2.0L 204hp 4wd being dropped. That would be a sweet spot one those looking for slightly more torque than the 1.5L
AWD. Saying 4wd means it refers to trucks.
@@krane15
Nope. Only in the US, but then they get it wrong all the time.
4WD used by JLR for all their vehicles and even Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini
11:02 they could fit the subwoofer in sidewall so it would not waste space under a floor
They absolutely ruined the front. I dont understand why manufacturers are taking an aggressive looking front and making it look soft/cheap. Same as what BMW has done with their 1 Series
Do you know when the 333hp version of the Cupra LEON ST can be ordered?
1.5 engine TSI or eTSI? According to the official site of Cupra, the engine is coming with MHEV technology. Also skoda named this technology MHEV and the engines are eTSI. There is a 48V battery in the car (Kodiaq, Superb). Is this car the same as I mentioned?
1.5 eTSI should be more economical in city drive.
Hi Thomas, so you have a stiffer mount for the middle camera showing the road? At times it wobbles so much I thought you were driving through cobblestones 😂. Maybe use two cords to secure it more? Dunno..
I liked the video thanks for the nice review
I love it , but in black ❤
Great design in the front!
Thanks Thomas! Now I want to trade in my 2022 VZx
After just 2 years? Relax, it's not that big of a difference.
@@livolas Who asked you?
@@Staff7A who asked how you feel about your current car?
Subwoofer is a speaker but it is designated for low frequency sound. We as a buyer want to know if the car has a dedicated subwoofer or a generic speakers.
60K Euro for a C segment crossover, what is VAG smoking. 35K should be the top VZ one.
Just the list price on paper. Nobody buys it for that price. Just look at mobile de, there are tons of vz5's around 40K eur. The most cheapest performance car with 5 cylinder it is a bargain. This will be the same. List price means nothing...
You get 23% discount off the list price in Germany as we speak and there are even better offers if you go for leasing or other financing.
35K you can get a base model of a 1.5 TSI Golf
Cheaper than 60K maybe yes but don't be ridiculous, 35K at this point is a fully specced Fabia, you really think the VZ should be the same price as a Fabia?
The Golf 7.5 GTI cost 35k, how do you expect what is essentially a Golf 8.5 R to cost the same?
Big + for putting proper size speaker in the front door.
Wow awesome car & a great review to go with it but im more interested in the new Cupra Leon 333bhp!!! So hopefully you will be getting that as your next review fine sir!!🤞🏻👌🏻👍🏻😃
Great looking car, really nice interior too
Are the Akrapovic coming on the 333 HP version or is it added / option ?
Option
@@autogefuehl thanks brother ! I’m about to buy the 333 HP version with my wifey. Definitely taking the Akrapovic 🔥
@@christophergensse3412 Akrapovic is a must thing for 333 hp version
@@FeN1xDD I know right ? But I can’t figure out how much it would cost. I’ll ask directly the Capra salesman when I meet him on Tuesday.
@@christophergensse3412 it costs around 4000 eur

way to go!
Was 360 camera quality updated? Loving the update!
Dude that accent is legendary! 😂
😎
Nice car. Wish we had this brand in the US!
probably later in 2025-2026
Its coming, I hear.
@@autogefuehl thanks for Your reply, is it just the same as drift mode in S3 and golf R?
Yes
Not a single color available? Gray, brown gray and slightly blue gray are the only options?
indeed
Its everything gray German roots.
would you say it's a cheaper competitor for the Audi S3?
Can say so
What colour is this please?
10:10 I would like a more detailed demonstration of those hidden isofix points
Good to see it has electric passenger seat now. But for the price, it needs ventilated seats and HUD.
Leah meter at her best
Luckily sold the pre face-lift 310 hp version for a half price. Those cars are buggy as hell. Although everything is covered by warranty, after some 5th time it gets annoying.
Now enjoying Lexus ES300h and would never switch back to VAG.
@@djchristian82 I got steering wheel, vacuum valve and some more minor stuff replaced. Common issues include Brembo brakes, rear view camera etc. Then few times CEL where the issue was never identified.
Great video! What colour is this?
thanks! 00:37
I'm not sure about the price tho, Tiguan starts at 35k right, how does this starts at 40k is mind blowing. Biggest issue in pre redesign based on my experience was nvh noise although it was comfy suspension and AC controls with laggy unit. Other than that all was fine.
In the Netherlands, Tiguan starts closer to €50k
@@DennisDinges you guys have some extra taxes right? In Germany official starting price was 36600 and it's now 34990 for the cheapest one.
Hey, nice video. Did you hear any wind noise while driving?
haha love the 20 - 100 on a 60km road!
Niiiiice one 🤙⭐️
Cupra Tavascan next please. That car is beautiful.
They did a review 3 weeks ago.
@@almac9203 a driving review ?
Better than CX-30? They coming to US or nah?
Thx 👍
Suuuuuper car 🥰
Everyone compares the fanciest versions - maybe it would be worth testing/comparing the basic version of the Porsche 911 992.2 (C2) with the Mercedes AMG GT 43. Such a comparison of rear-wheel drive sports cars would probably be interesting, at least for me.
I seriously considered the previous vzx but I didn't like the blue leather interior that came in most of them also the size was abit too small,if I wanted a small car id get the GOLF R.
I ended up with a TIGUAN R
what color is this
The previous gen was that much better looking. They ruined one the best looking small suvs. Same thing with the new countryman. And its a shame cause they pretty much improved everything else on an already really good vehicle.
totally agree, the old one was mucm more sporty and agressive. this looks like sheit
Yep the new look is like every EV . I’d be upgrading but not prepared to drive something that idly from the front.
I liked the previous one more too, but to be fair to them they had to ditch the Seat styling eventually
@@shroomyesc that is a fair point, but there are better ways to do it
@@gaffeli157 im pretty sure you can just put prevuous wings and front face no prob though
Agree
Still place where right leg touches plastic feels hard and not comfortable in long journeys?
Yep, I totally get that 100%! It really gets uncomfortable!
Damn, they let go of the oil dipping stick?
Did you measure 0-100 acceleration?
Check timecode
@@autogefuehl could you point exact time code? I rewatched 11:16 and 11:34, there is no video with racelogick and no info about 0-100, am I missing something?
Whats the total weight?
I already know, its 2200 maximum
Why can’t they fit the gas strut as standard on the CUPRA , Golf , T rock , polo and Audi A1
They really ruined the front the best part of the old one and they did nothing to improve the interior the worst part of the old one
Essentially this will be what the golf R mk8.5 will be, interesting.
I love it ❤❤❤❤
