It is kinda cool being in Auckland able to travel east or west coast and so quick to get there. I remember getting on a pushbike once after lunch and going for a job in Tairua but I only got to Thames after dark. Haha them were the days reminiscing, 65 now and living in Western Australia. Here you can drive all day and night to get somewhere. The thing about NZ is so easy to travel from one side to the other it really does not take very long. Even Living down south in Christchurch could be in New Plymouth before it got too late. It's just the mentality because it seems a long way away if your not used to driving the distance. Even 2 hours drive can seem a long way.
