Currently going through the process of having a heat pump installed by Octopus. The process is exactly as explained. Not just conducted by email, but assigned your personal sales contact, then your personal installation coordinator who actually phones and keeps you informed of the progress. I personally needed unlooping, all sorted by Octopus. Extremely impressed with process so far, installation slated for early Feb....all for £3500
Octopus installed my Daikin 4kW ASHP for £800. The fact that they use their own installation teams means you get a high quality installation and their customer service if you have any issues is second to none. House has never been warmer and have reduced my bills by £125 in November and December. Very pleased but you do have to pick a skilled installer which is what you get with Octopus.
What happens if you change provider from Octopus? Do they reclaim their ASHP & controls? Will the latter work if you have another provider? Also, what happens when it breaks down, or needs replacing? Are you stuck with using Octopus at high rates, rather than getting a competitive quote?
@ - Researching Octopus's website is hardly going to give you the honest cons of their products! Where do you suggest provides an independent opinion??
Octopus are a good electricity supplier with great customer service. However, they are awful at supplying anything else, their customer service is woeful. I wouldn’t buy anything else from them other than electricity!
agree , Ive enquired several times re heat pump install. Took forever to get back to me. Was given the pass along for days . Eventually wastold Not in my area. Still contact them every few months , still not available in my area. Yet their ads still arive in my inbox. I think they are amazing as regards to the various tarrifs. As some vlogger said the other day. If they cant provide a heat pump why not pass the job on to the heat geeks which are arguably the most advanced trained designer installers.
Great podcast
Fantastically spoken. The best explanation of load shifting and how a price is calculated as I’ve heard.
Great interview! Our Cosy 6 install cost 1800 including the Bus grant

If all persons coming to your home are Octopus engineers, where is the Heat Geek link?
Was there a prize for guessing the number of Constantine Octopus' that popped up across the video 😂
all your books are the wrong way round
Just need to remove the standing charge rubbish.
I binned my gas standing charge , paying for failed energy companies on the electric one is annoying as its on OFGEM. In 9 years its quadrupled.

What are they terrible at providing? And why?
@ EV chargers, wouldn’t trust them with anything else, they are not set up for anything else than electricity supply.
Not in my experience. They have been fantastic with my install.
