This govt rushed in and was highly reactive. Cancelling all sorts of programmes and projects before even evaluating what was working, what wasn’t and without having any serious plans to replace what was cancelled. Short term thinking over longer term consequences. Incompetence.
@daveearnshaw6874 But that is how big business works now. Procure, wreck and sell off the parts. That's why CEOs should never be let anywhere near government.
Polynesians navigated the Pacific using star matauranga and inter-laced twigs indicating ocean current patterns. Thousands of years later, the Aratere ferry and the Manawanui sinking in Samoa were both due to the lack of knowledge of the auto pilot system. Now we are asked to trust the advice of Nicky Noboats?
In regard to the letter that the Māori leader have sent to king Charley, it’s up to him to honour the treaty. I say to Charley if dodgy Dave doesn’t withdraw his bill he the king will dissolve parliament, that will get luny lux sweating twinkes
We’ll if labour had not done such a crap job at negotiating an awesome ferry package we would not had to cancel it on ideology grounds and propose a shit solution #luxonblamelabour #luxonblamewinston
@@dion6635 I don’t mean to be rude; but I’m not sure you understand what I mean. If Winston and Shane Jones and the other 6 NZ first seats leave the coalition; the government with only 60 of 123 seats no longer has any majority. So the government collapses. And we have to have a snap election.
@danieleyre8913 OK I get you now. I was thinking more about the next election cycle where the general public blames Winnie for the ferry mess and he loses votes there. Thanks for the info all the same:)
@@dion6635 No worries. But as much as I hate him; I think Winnie is the only one with any real brains, and I expect him to be the one who plays them. Wait until his turn as deputy PM is finished…
new spirit of Tasmania, one ship built in Finland cost 850 million Euros, not rail on rail off, parked up in Scotland due to poor planning regarding port infrastructure now won't be in use in Tassie to 2026, we had two ships hydrogen capable at less cost than the spirit, there's not a chance they can procure, sign and have built for less
This is such bs. It does not matter who pays for the port upgrade, the consumer will pay. If port pays, the cost will be added to ticket price. If govt pays, we pay less directly via tax. Freight costs will be passed to end consumer. The port needs upgrade regardless, that was always a cost. Now it's delayed. So we get less boat, for the same price.

Winstah needs atleast a term for his responsabilities back on track.. break even with your budget would be preferred Winstah.. minimal deficiet is a critical loss these days.. what do you call 50% over budget spending before its called acceptable?.. a bad habit.
You not heard we had a thing called inflation happening? Also, if National hadn't disbanded the Ministry of Works we wouldn't have these blow outs and private contractors ripping off the taxpayer.
We need ngati toa rangatira and ngai tahu partnerships, Mana whenua, time to stand up and grow up kiwi, we are all dependent on each other , the ferries economic contribution deserves to be defended and remain assets of all nz.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ngai Tahu were thinking about running ferries. They've proven themselves competent in managing huge businesses related to tourism and transport. This would be right up their alley.
@ yes it would depend on the number of voters per shot and the trebuchet size to achieve escape velocity, but hey throwing one voter 300m might do the trick🤣
Serious mismanagement of the public purse.
This Govt is bizarre in it's political management pissing off large sections of NZ society so early in its term is extraordinary
Move fast and break things, aka the shock doctrine.
Awesome show! ❤

All this from supposedly the political party of Big Buisness.
You're absolutely right. Incompetent thinking plus Luxon didn't have a plan.😂🤣

PR con job,Winston doesn't know much and is obviously already wavering on rail enabled ferries.

‘Cornucopia of shit fuckery’…epic Chewie…and so deeply accurate !!
Does Winston realise hes been stitched up with a hospital pass? Nation and Act just checkmated him for a two party coalition
If he leaves the coalition: The government collapses.
@danieleyre8913 not if they swing to National or Act... I hope not, but I wouldn't hold my breath
