    This is the best bomber sound on RUclips! Got the right pitch and drone! Too many others sound like they recorded their box fan. Thanks for the dark screen and extended play!

    Great relaxing droning sound. The daylight bombing raids were terrible for the B-17 crews with no long distance fighter cover. If a crew lasted for six missions over Germany they were lucky. General (Colonel at the time) Curtis Lemay devised a strategy of using leading and tailing upfront bombers at night to drop incendiary bombs at the front and rear of the target area, which then made it easier for the other B-17s to hit their targets. Must have been horrible on both sides of the war. The GIs thinking that the flyboys had it easy really didn't understand. Of course, on both sides, no one understood what the Foo Fighters were. No Nazi super weapons. They obviously now, in hindsight, were UAP. Wake me when we find out what the Foo Fighters really were (if the real story ever comes out).

    • @BlackAtomProductions
      @BlackAtomProductions  11 месяцев назад

      I'll tell you, I always thought foo fighters were some form of unidentified ball lightening. Something that had to do with all of the aircraft and warfare, perhaps interacting with something in the atmosphere and generating ball lightning, which then were drawn to any aircraft flying nearby. This made the pilots believe these balls of light were toying with them or following them. Not sure how to prove it, but I always thought of ball lightening when i heard those stories. Glad you enjoy the sound. Thanks for listening!

      I don't think that the ball lighting fits the descriptions which I have read, but I wasn't around to see them. So, I can't rule out natural phenomena. It's possible, I not being a meteorologist with lightning knowledge to opine. I'll listen to your video tonight. Thanks again.

    Imagine u're alone (at all) on a single B-17, flying on autopilot to nowhere in the middle of the night... and all u can see is clouds, dark starry sky and rising moon...
    Wait... That's the B-29 video background, only the plane differs...

      The B29 sound of the big radial engines is more relaxing to me...
      I was born in 1953 and remember going to friends homes and they had pictures of their fathers in Army Air Corps pilots uniforms.
      My own father was a young farmer and supported my mother and his own mom, a widow since my dad was age 15. Most farmers were not drafted and many didn't volunteer because they had families to support.
      Thanks to all in the Greatest Generation. Very brave men and pioneering women. And thanks to all the Rosie the Riveter gals, too.
      They made life free and easy for us Boomers.
      God Bless America.
