Here’s some practical tips which should be useful when you travel for Hajj or Umrah.

Walaikum Salam. I have never stayed at that hotel. So, I cannot say from personal experience.
Assalam Alykm. Is it possible to exchange SEK to SAR at the exchange shops?
Walaikum Salam, I have not exchanged SEK, so I cannot say for sure. However, I expect this to be possible.
Shall I use my Monzo or Starling card to withdraw cash and pay for contactless? Does that give a better rate than buying cash? Jazak Allah
I pay using my Chase card, which gives a decent rate without any fees.
Is it possible to use VISA or Mastercard for the exchange, or is the exchange limited to cash only?
@ Rafeek, You can use Visa or Mastercard to withdraw cash from ATM in Makkah and Madinah.

The price depends on the package you buy - how many minutes, how much data. It ranges from 20-30 SAR to much more.

Salaam, I use the Chase card. There a few others that don’t charge for foreign transactions.
@@LifeMoves do Uber take cash payments or have to pay with app?
I believe so but I cannot say for sure. I have used Uber in Madinah but I paid using my card through the app.
However, I have called taxis in Makkah and Madinah from the streets and paid cash.
@@LifeMoves which is the cheapest to go from train station to hotel?
I would say if you take a taxi, don’t take the ones standing right in front of the station. If possible, walk away a little further and take one that’s just arriving. Or one from the street. That’s a general way to get a cheaper taxi but I admit, it’s not always possible.
Why it's always closed when I come to it.
@ Muaz, sometimes when it’s closed they would have a notice on the closed shutter saying why or until when it is closed.
In that case, you can go to the clock tower ground floor. When you’re in the clock tower, just ask any guard or cleaner - they will show you the money exchange.
Are you 100% sure that some money exchange company accept POS machine
@ Asif Hasan, I’m not sure what is POS machine. Do you mean card payment? I have never paid at a money exchange using debit or credit cards in Saudi Arabia.

I did not say that. Please watch the video again. I said I use the card to pay directly at the shops, so that I can carry less cash. I was talking about paying at shops, not at money exchange.

Which hotel were you staying in makkah
I have stayed in multiple hotels in Makkah including Al Ghufran Safwa Hotel, Pullman ZamZam Hotel, Dar Al Eiman Al Khalil Hotel etc.
