@manuelmelgoza7687 I have tried to like American made reels such as Van Staal because, you know, it's made with a solid block of aluminum, and it's kind of pretty, but after a few uses, it really was a struggle just to retrieve empty lines. You would need 10x the effort to crank a Van Staal than you do with a japanese made reel. I also owned 2 Daiwa Exist 3000 reels, and it is as smooth as butter. Van Staal, I'll just leave them on the shelf for the pure reason of esthetic to the eye
@@leo-js2tb i tried one too and same thing happened after i caught a 15lbs catfish it started to make a grinding noise. I just order the new 24 vanford in 3000 for a phenix dragonfly rod lets see how it works 🔥 the & if you want something american penn is the one to go but they are heavy as can be 🥲
Loved the review! Was looking at getting the same rod and you convinced me to pull the trigger. What size vanford are you using? Want to get good balance.
2.9 ounce for rod only on the GLX. Length, reel, and line will vary on weight so I just did the rod. I screwed up and actually weighed the wrong rod first. Hope you didn’t see that weight before I deleted it. It was wrong. The weight of the rod by itself is 2.9 ounces. It’s feather light man. I got rid of all my loomis rods and switched over to tfo because I couldn’t tell a huge difference in most. On this rod there is a difference. Not night and day but when you want to detect the slightest nibble this is definitely the rod to use.
Happy birthday to family great review awesome rod
Thanks man.
I have multiple GLX and Conquest. All my reels are Stella.
Good stuff man.
Glx is the best for trout i have it with a stella 1000 and for bass i have the Nrx+ with the daiwa exist 2000 love that i can fit 300+ yards of line

Heck yah thanks bud. I’m using a 2000 vanford. Same weight as the 1000 but holds more line for them biggens.
Any chance you'd be willing throw that combo (or just the rod) on a scale and let me know what the total weight is? That exact combo is in my cart 😅
