When I first saw the car I knew straight away that it would be a Factory rebuild for very reasons you mentioned, I have no doubt you guys could have rebuilt it with some factory support but realistically its future value definitely depends on it being a full factory rebuild.

This is by far the closest look we have had yet at the damage, that thing rip to shreds like paper. 30 MPH in Texas must be slightly different then here in MN
I’ve been saying that from the moment the wreck went public. There is absolutely NO WAY that car was only doing 30. The damage to the front wheel alone is evidence to a faster crash. Now we learn from Houston the extent of the damage to the tub. 30 mph impact won’t destroy a carbon tube like that. But what do I know. I just drive a 98 JDM... lol
Well carbon doesn't crunch in the typical way any standard car would, it flexes a little and then explodes like you see here. But the way that control arm got ripped off makes me think he was going between 40-50mph when he decided to fight that 🌲.

Yeah, that is definitely the amount of damage caused by a 30 or 40 mph crash. This dude just needs to come clean and admit he was doing about 80 when he hit the curb. He keeps saying he was barely going the speed limit (40 mph he says) and then hit the brakes and hit the curb which sent him flying into a tree. We are not morons out here.

I've seen this car so many times here in DFW. Kids dad has a Senna, LaFerrari, another Pagani, a Chiron Sport and a Koenigsegg on order. They have a couple bucks. Always bringing them to car shows.

That was not a 30-40mph wreck. Wheels don’t come off and get mangled like that going 30mph. That was just a dumb expensive mistake of letting a 17 year old drive dad’s million dollar car. Hopefully the dad learned and realized that letting his inexperienced kid drive his hypercars was a bad idea.

Huayra is technically 1/1 the options are slightly different between the two. The european Huayra has Black mirrors, Black interior, and a gold outline on the Black center stripe. The totaled one has Purple mirrors, Creme interior, and no outline stripe.

It was obvious from the original photographs of the car at the accident location that the monocoque was significantly damaged, and so only Horacio Pagani could repair it. It was not necessary to fly to Texas to establish that fact
One of the reasons why I love this channel, the knowledge you have for these cars is amazing!
This accident just happened. The insurance needs time to settle the claims which takes weeks, but in the case, due to the cars value, it could take months. I think H.P. would want the car returned to the factory for repair.

The way the cars are built the front “fender” and “hood” are all one piece. Same with the rear “quarter panel” and the “boot” it’s all one piece. If you look at photos online you can see what they look like when you open the car all the way. It’s quite special and part of what makes the cars so exotic. In automotive design these single pieces of the body are referred to as a clamshell design :)

The Huayra is the pinnacle of class to me. I watched a great documentary about Pagani and although he is a bit pretentious, the car is very special in its own category. If you drive one, you should be able to break the speed limit legally..... lol. Fuc#ing beautiful
