Hi Grandmajuki, If you are using zippers or velro...you still have to attach the quilt in some way. You use either pins, basting or staples. This process takes considerable time. Red Snappers only takes 2-3 min. per roller. I think that leaning over the quilt for 2 min. is much better than sitting and pinning for 15. Removal using the Red Snappers is even faster. TIME is the reason I love the Red Snappers the most. Not poking my fingers and clothing is a close second.
I don't lean over the quilt. I duck under the belly bar and then attach the backing to the take up roller first. (I realize that this might not work for everyone.) Then I duck back out and attach the backing to the belly bar. Then I load the rest of the quilt sandwich as Renae does. :)
I love, love, love my red snappers....tried zippers, tried pins, did the velcro...this beats them all....thanks Renae

BTW, the Red Snappers are awesome! Thanks!
where can i get these at?
Why use red snappers over zippers? I don't want to lean over the quilter? So give me a good reason to change to red snappers?
