Mr. Buffet is a one of the top most well known investors and self made super rich in America’s Capitalism systems of freedoms, entrepreneurship spirit and equality of opportunities through his own wisdom, unique financial managing patterns and hardworking habit and business experiences. At his age, he still is very healthy and maintains extremely quick reflection on any questions or subject what he wants to talk about. Yet he is very straightforward, sincere, kind and generous person at the same time. Wish him healthy always to continue to share his financial investment experiences from his life experiences to all.

@@VerHammerTime OH so it's narcissistic to imagine an - INTERVIEW - would benefit from hearing the INTERVIEWER.
Seriously, give me a break. This channel calls itself "Yahoo Finance" and interviews the greatest investor of all time yet they neither put in the money for a $15 mic nor the effort to get it checked beforehand, let alone edit it afterwards.
Not only that, it's just an upload of a single camera of an interview that was already uploaded. The interview is up from different angles on the very same channel with better quality. This one may include more of the interview as it is longer but what is it worth when you can't even hear the questions asked?
On top of all this: This is a youtube channel, a public place, if anyone puts something on here, be ready for criticism. If you think your channel is going to grow when you're inconsistent with your quality then good luck.
If this was meant to be some kind of "extra special for people that want to see the extended version" then that should've been mentioned aswell as the original linked.
In my eyes (or rather ears) this simply was disrespectful towards Warren Buffett and towards the viewers.

I have a huge amount of respect for Warren. The part of this interview that was especially sensitive for me... Was the part where Warren acknowledged that the Market system needs to take care of those whose talents may not match the requirements of our capitalist system. I completely agree with him. I will first say that I don't imply (nor do I think Warren was implying that people should be lazy and just blame their lack of motivation or laziness on not fitting in). But for example, I happen to be a technologist (trained and successfully educated in the field of Computer Science)... And I am absolutely "talentless" when it comes to working an 8 to 5 office shift and going out there to face tough managers and customers.
Yet, I'm the same person who for 20 years, have done a lot of good work for my peers and my family business, all through my own time schedule (not an 8am - 5pm type standard shift)... But my own biological time schedule, which I have very little control over unfortunately. I even tried to improve my sleep and schedule, but only to find out that my insomnia stems from what doctors call a "delayed sleep phase"... That is only controlled by my brain waves and very little will of my own !
But I am talented with computers and software development, and have my own product that I invented to compete with Google's Android Note Taking App called
Google Keep. My own variation on that (available on Google Play Store) is called "EZ Notes"
I spent 6 passionate years working on my App, until I had a lower back injury a few years ago. The reason was because I had to keep pushing more and more enhancements to my product, as I desperately tried to make some living. But because I was unable to make even $100 dollars per month, I ultimately lost my lower back, and all my passion and desire to work... And fell into utter despair and became very demoralized.
So all those physical challenges along with my "delayed sleep phase".... Make it next to impossible for me to hold a standard 8-5 job... and I am basically completely helpless in this market sysyem
Just to prove my point that there are lots of good people like myself, who don't fit the market economy and need to be taken care of... I will go on to state that in recent months, I have started my own Microsoft Windows PC consulting services... And although I am still struggling to support myself, I have faith that great people like Bill Gates and Warner Buffet, are out there in the real world.... And will not automatically assume that someone who does not fit the market economy, may be poor, and is unable to support a descent life... Deserves to live in misery.
If anything, we need to help each other and to be there for one another with strong love and support and a sense of unity as a nation and people. This becomes increasingly important in today's America, where it has become so easy and convenient to judge people based on their economic situation and particular life challenges.
I highly salute Warren for his deep wisdom and understanding of these kinds of complications that many people like myself face in our lives, as we work hard to better ourselves and improve our situation (whether it be financially, emotionally, or health wise.)
I would like to also remind everyone that no one (especially in a Free market capitalist society like America) wants to be poor, disrespected, and left out. No one wants that, and few if any deserve it.
So if you're ever in the blessed situation of owning a successful wealthy business, and a guy like me comes to your place of business offering my technology support (or any other business of value)... Do your best to help support, motivate, and encourage that person to keep being productive and fostering their talents. It's far better to help someone feel like they matter in this world, and give them hope that they can succeed in life... But it takes a person with leadership qualities, a good heart, and a good upbringing and morality, to see such opportunities to help their fellow mankind. We must never let a position of wealth and power, make us forget that what makes us humans (rather than soulless computers) is our ability to embrace others and shower them with our help, support, and wealth.
Sad is the person who amasses great wealth, but never develops a generous heart to help those in need. I would hate myself and my life, if I was just a rich fat pig, who never ever cared about anything or anyone else, and grew old and died never giving back to the country and people who helped me achieve great success.
Think about it guys... What's the point of money if it doesn't develop a generous heart inside us? And who is going to be remembered and admired until eternity? The selfish people who just amasses a ton of wealth for themselves? Or the leaders who not only helped their own family and loved ones, but also went out of their way to love and understand the challenges of others?
Follow in my footsteps starting today, and tell yourself that you will be that Hero and leader with the generous heart... And not that lonely miserable greedy capitalist who ultimately leaves the world and all his wealth to no one else.

52:32 Warren gives his take on Costco membership fee. While I respect Warren and consider his take "factual" I do wonder if there is an error of omission (deliberately? because Berkshire owns Costco? Or Charlie is on Costco's board?)? Warren simply left politely "unsaid" that the fact is membership fees account for ~70% of Cosco's profit by my calculation (and someone else said as high as 75%). There is zero chance that Warren doesn't know this number.
So if a business can charge membership fees and make 70% profit off from those fees alone, how those fees are calculated and charged are worth close inspection, something I've started looking into a little.

    • @kingkong8974
      @kingkong8974 3 года назад +1

That's cause costco has a low profit margin as it's business model. So low that they almost don't make any profit from their sales. Their memberships is what they profit off of

I think it is true that he got out of the catastrophe insurance business because the rates are unfavorable - but I also think he knows that costs will only grow over time - so he made a business decision to not invest in a business where costs are going to rise over time (due to climate change).

I enjoy listening to Buffet... he's entertaining in his perspective and knowledge, but..... he's not honest. He like others, speaks of inflation as if it's a phenomena that just happens. He knows better and therefore is misleading the public. Inflation is a hidden tax, and totally under the control of the FED, that manipulates key commodities that lead the price markets. When prices go up, people pay more of their income both for the product, and in taxation. I've been a labor rights activist for over thirty years. People like Buffet, eat their own young, and ask for more. He's not there for you and I. He'll use us, and he said so.... However if you understand where the moneyed interests, that control even Warren Buffet, are "taking our country", and you have a basic realization that many of us are unwitting pawns, and that works for them, then you can start to refuse to be a blind follower. You can do that by forming strong labor unions that can hold economic sectors at bay. when we do that, then the moneyed interests can't maintain the smoke and mirrors.

I can't argue with success but his advice is all well and good when you have already made it. Ok I'm sure he had the same approach 50 years ago but my point is it's ok to buy let's say Apple shares at the height of the market if you have tons of money, but if you don't surely waiting for a crash is better. Not necessarily timing the market just not buying right at the top of a market is a pretty good start! When you got tons of money you can afford to lose alot, but when you don't you surely have to try buy at a time when the market is down like around 2010

Is apple really going through some “day to day stuff” though. I want to listen to what he’s saying but it just seems like he didn’t address them not bringing out any big new products and losing market share on the iPhone and iMac and how big of a problem that could be since they don’t really have any businesses that could replace those.

Buffet, no matter what he thinks, has very good athletic talent. In 29:12 it's obvious that his ring finger is much longer than his index finger and that makes him a prime athlete. Competitive as he is I wouldn't guess any differently.
