It specifically says the eagle survived (instead of saying both birds survived) so I assume the poor hawk did not.
i was thinking the same thing ,
Amazing how their reflexes held them to the branches!
It's because their tendons tendons are the opposite of how ours work. It's like their feet lock in naturally. That's how birds are able to perch for their whole lives.
@@wyomingadventures amazing! Thank you. God’s creatures are incredible.
They have to deliberately open their talons ... it's that way so they can perch or not have to deliberately hold onto prey.
@@SalveRegina8Amen 🙏🏻
@@lazygardens So I take it this is how most of them deal with wicked strong winds as well?
It's cool how they still latch onto the branch even when rendered unconscious.
Also, it is very sad how much wilderness has been and continues to be destroyed. Most people these days don't even realize what has been lost.
you ever watch boxers get knocked out and their body locks up?
It's natural for their tendons to lock on and be relaxed. It's totally the opposite for us. Look it up. I'm not good at explaining it.
@@wyomingadventures Yeah I vaguely know about it, it's still cool though.
The squirrels prayed day and night, until ⚡💥🔥
Oh wow 😆
Save 😢them eagles!!! Bless them all!!
Hope they don't have any long lasting effects from the strike
*_When Human Beings release their fist muscles their hands relax. But Birds are built in reverse fashion. That is they must labor to unclench their claws. They naturally want to clench on their own. That's why the Birds didn't fall off the branches once rendered unconscious. It's the same science they use to sleep at night on the roost ..._*
Exactly 💯
Squirrels have this reflex too. In fact I'm a little surprised that we don't, considering our ancestors slept in trees.

If you grab a live wire you will grip it harder and can't release while current is flowing.
Oh no! So hard for them to start over on those huge nests 😢😢
I think the hawk died and I don’t think that eagle is able to survive in the wild because it probably went through head injury sadly. It’s sad to me because I think usually eagles and hawks don’t live side by side but these two did
Wow! glad they survived
What if they didn't?? It's how nature works
i dont think one of them did
@@RumpelFourSkin Really? is that how nature works? Geezer I was born yesterday!
The eagle survived but the hawk didnt.
@@haven_lady675 yeah you can tell cause the eagle came back the hawk didnt
Our government need to spend more money and time on projects like this instead of migrants and wars.
This is a STATE funded agency. I swear, MAGA are the least intelligent people in the nation.
You're here because of immigration...
Allowing puttin to march on... Not an option.
Amen.
They need to spend the money on the people who paid it
Take away ebt from all the drug addicts. They are using the system 😮
Holy this is one of those you wouldn't believe it unless it was caught on video.
A thunderbird has hatched
Omg! How sad! 😢😮
Omg poor thing
If anyone saw SNL last week with Nate Bargatze, this story hits 😂
can we start a gofoundme for this eagle to get a new nest?
😆
*_Sometimes I hate that I have a sick dark sense of humor!_*
@@societydwellingifd8080 It iz good to have
Boulder county is growing TOO MUCH.
This has nothing to do with human population growth
And what does growth have to do with this story?
they fainted when they saw their home was destroyed.
no their bodies got hit by the wave of the impact and knocked them unconscious. Their bodies is able to automatically lock up when they faint. Sadly One of them did not survive
Its incredible how they held on, thats amazing instinct.
That is heartbreaking.. and symbolic.
Fr...
that's what I'm thinking too🤔
I thought the same thing.
Yeah it is! Trump just happens to be in that state today for a rally too. Maybe I’m overthinking all this. 😅
@@ReginaRedding Let's see if they re-play the stuffing out of it like they kept replaying the cross falling from Notre Dame.
The eagles survived, but the hawk did not. So who's the hawk in this case?
So where can I donate a telephone pole, shipping pallet, straw and 10 pounds of salmon?
That eagle dead AF. The hell you mean "They're alright"? lol
Wildlife can NOT catch a break between this and wildfires...! Quit building crap apartments near their nests..
What on earth do apartments have to do with lightning strikes? Stop trying to spew your mindless agenda.
WE ARE BEHIND YOU BALD EAGLES SURVIVE AND LIVE.
Boulder is probably going to spend 10 million dollars trying to make lightning illegal in Boulder now….
If you were offered a free education of your choice. Would you take it?
I don't believe either bird survived despite what they're telling us.
Left out that the eggs in the nest were fried
No eagles haven't laid any eggs yet when this happend. I think they begin to lay eggs in Jan-Feb
That eagle doesnt look okay 😂
how they were able to hang on while unconscious is so lucky
So people walking on the trail have nothing to do with the lighting strike, nor interruption of their habitat.
Amazing how clear the sky is with no rain or lightning 😢 even though the nest explodes?
Save the bald eagles
If you couldn't see the lighting strike, go to the eye doctor.
@Rogue-7.62 will do, because I watched it several times and never see the lightning
@@jeanniestegner9915 I would be really pissed off if this was some sort of psyche-stunt. Drone cam or no, it's weird that it just 'happened' to be there to film it.
@@celestepalm6949 It would be completely illegal as bald (and golden) eagles are a Federally protected species. And the camera didn't just "happen" to be there. It is one of the regular site cams that is always watching this nest.
@jeanniestegner9915 I saw it the first time through. What resolution are you watching? It is easy to see.
Looks like the lighting hit his hat.
I’m wondering about the Hawk, did both birds survive? So glad no Eaglets were in the nest at the time.
i had a hanging basket rod and some plants on them and robins made a nest there and had babies, socute and the next day they were dead and spewed about and we had a storm I figured the rod got hit by ligtening, there were no survivors. I felt bad.
There's no way to avoid lightning. Just prepare for the worst!
Like the man said, don't screw with their food and they will stay. I have baldies around my VA property because there are tons of rabbit, groundhog and so on.
That's a bad omen on Eagle/ America/Babylon.
That is so crazy ..and on film.
What film?
Crazy, trees are pretty good conductors and that was definitely one of the biggest ones in the area
Eagle was like "I just want to raise my chicks in a safe area. Now THIS. I didn't have nest insurance, so I'm setting up a Gonestme to build another nest. By God, my clutch of eaglets _will_ get through this!"
wow, dear god, what the hell did these birds even do??
“What struck Bowvy the most..” ⚡️😂
Looks like someone sabotaged the nest. Should be investigated.
Yes! It looks like some Government agent put a bomb or some explosive in the nest!
Haitians call that fried chicken.
You're sick..
Wasn’t this part of last weeks SNL golf skit?
Why did I watch this? So sad, I hope the hawk survived.
Salt and pepper and its a good breakfast.
Wow amazing. As a bird watcher thanks for sharing. And caring.
So did both parents survive? Did the Hawk survive? Were there any eggs in the nest? I need info!!
Lightning killed that tree to begin with.
Snl skit in real life haha.
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
God had a personnel vendetta against that hawk lol
Can someone build some kind of structure for them to nest in?
The hawk tossed an M80 into nest.
Philadelphia needs to change the name of their football team to respect the eagles.
did the hawk survive ??
My thoughts too!
Wow…….Listen to the video next time and pay attention.
A red tailed hawk that near to the nest while the female is present? Is this the hawk that was raised by an eagle couple? Thankful she is ok, hoping the human community leaves her family enough habitat to ensure her descendants will always be there
What a shame, it isn't enough that people are encroaching on wildlife habitat's, shrinking it more every day. Wildlife has to deal with climate change too, that cottonwood nest tree was hanging on by a thread even before the lightning strike. Close the trail permanently to give the Eagles some peace and a chance at survival.
💯👏🏻
Climate change never happened before we came along…
Bird: Oww!!
I’ve never seen it tune until RUclips
I saw the Fox31 car leaving the area on my bike ride to check out the site
I'm laughing because it reminds me of that scene in "Meet the Parents" when the chupah Owen Wilson worked so hard on burst into flames.
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot
I was waiting for them to blame climate change….
I was waiting for them to blame democrats. How does that help?
Warm air can hold more water, one degree increase world wide is trillions of additional gallons in the atmosphere, but you're trash so don't worry about it.
@@ride1123 Yes, thank you! Biden's fault! Dems did it!

Well, I’m happy the eagle survived, but I hate that this video repeats repeats repeats the moment that bolt strikes the tree and the poor Red-tail Hawk can be seen just hanging there in the aftermath … like its life doesn’t matter?? Nature can be very brutal, for sure, but *people* don’t need to be so dismissive of the loss of another raptor’s life just because it wasn’t an eagle. 🥺
Eagles born out of thunderrrr
Sad situation
We are hard on our wildlife.
Thank goodness the eagles were not nesting.
If it's green, it must be developed. The only green that matters is the $$.
Dominion is what matters, not stewardship.
Humans aren’t dominant. 😂
If we place dominion over other animals; we will place dominion over other humans.
The basis of prejudice is all the same.
That was crazy
Chances are one in a million and has never been seen before. But the other news anchor starts off with "this is just one of many challenges these eagles are facing right now" as if eagles being stuck by lightening is a regular common occurance.

Apparently the eagle was about to vote blue. Gosh darn government weather weapons strike 🦅⚡️🪺again!!!!
Kind of a omen to our country right?
Developers should be required to take wildlife into consideration. It's all about the money though. Habitats are shrinking in places all over the United States, unfortunately.
Wowww... That's incredible.

You know what else is a bad omen?
Grown men being "weird" with themselves around kids.
Ok, so stop being weird around kids then.

Well duh they are behind their nest was destroyed.
A sign showing how screwed the U.S. is.
Ouch !
😂😂😆😆😆🤣🤣
So crazy
I love how science cannot explain why lightning strikes where it strikes. Why a nest, unless you're an undercover gov't agent, or beyond, who has the ability to use a lightning weapon, and aim it at specific objects.
Marjorie Taylor Green knows 🤣
I think this is God’s final warning to the USA.
Can you please add more info, id like to understand your point. Why is God only warning America? And what makes this his final warning?
So sad 😞
