beduiini makes a really good point. If you find yourself brought to a stop while in first gear and faced with the prospect of having to hold in the clutch for an inconvenient time, just reach down with the right hand and pull the neutral finder up a notch. Bingo! Neutral! It's a shame the 5-speed doesn't have this feature. Indeed, it's a shame that no other motorcycle has this feature!
Thanks for another Enfield clip, we missed them recently. If you would have added 1 minute on how to adjust the excentric oval ring to actually adjust exactly te neutral finder to perfect neutral, it would have been a perfect vidoe like all the others.
Easiest way to find neutral from 1st gear is to pull that lever up a little with your hand, when you are parking your bike and in complete standstill offcourse. Well, atleast with my RE. :) Thanks for this great video again!
Great, thnks; but if I stop die to traffic and have to shift again to 1st gear, what happen if I hit neutral when I was in 4 th? I have to shift all way up 4 times?
but even after you shift the gear the pointer points to 2 nd gear. I think it didn't came to actual neutral. it might be the neutral in between 3rd and 4 th gear as we can do with the main gear lever.
which gearbox is that with a neutral finder and the actual gear shifter on the other side, where-in the neutral finder gearbox has the shifter on the same side on the same shaft where the kick start is. kindly enlighten me about this gear box. also let me know about the modifications done if at all any. thanks
In the American market, motorcycles are required by law to have the gear shift lever on the left side, so American Royal Enfields have a special gear shift linkage and gearbox cover that crosses over from right to left. The shift action is terrible, but it works. I bought a conversion kit to set it up to shift on the right, and I am installing it this week. Hopefully it will shift better.
Good to hear that you're converting it into right shifter it'll then be easy to use the shifter and neutral finder just toe and heel concept. Here in India we don't have this gear box with left shift and neutral finder we have 5speed gear box which has left shifts but no neutral finder here we convert from 4S to 5S according to the choice but when converting to 5S the shifter remain on the right side by drilling a hole adding a shaft and attaching the shift lever on it which is more preferred here

Wish I could have this on my 5speed '05 RE Bullet 500 :(
All old royal enfield have brake on the left side how come your's has it in the right
Mine is a USA model, and the law requires the brake to be on the right side, so it has a conversion kit on it.
@@hoohoohoblin where can I get that? Do you link to any website ?

I know my ninja has a positive neutral finder
Idk why they removed it
I don't understand
On my Enfield i have to pull up the neutral finder to get the bike in neutral
is there we have to pull the clutch for neutral finder lever to kick
From which gear? pulling up can put it from 1st into neutral, press down from any other gear
i don't have it on my efi...i want it!
Wre is main liver
This is an American bike, so the shift lever is on the other side of the bike.
