    I have binge watched almost all of your videos. Fortunately, I have the ability to absorb your material while playing it all at 2X speed, so it only took me half the time to binge-watch! Your material is truly gold. You have a remarkable gift of being able to deliver your content without any "fluff" at all.

      Yes, I do speak slowly, so it's possible to play my videos at 2X speed and still understand. I naturally speak slowly, but also do so because I have a lot of viewers whose first language is not English.

      @@ScientificWritingwithKarenLMcK I am sure that it is also because you are so deliberate in your delivery. It truly is a joy to watch and listen. Having closed captions turned on at 2X makes it even easier to absorb the material at that rate. On another matter, maybe you have such a video and I have overlooked it, what about a paper that isn't a research paper , i.e. no materials and methods, field data, etc, instead, a presentation of say, a new scientific model, or a new approach to a particular scientific method. How would one approach writing such a paper? Could you please do a video on that, or if you already have, tell me which one it is. I have watched most and do not recall if one covered that.

      I've not done a video on using a non-traditional format. Thanks for the suggestion

    Mam, I would like to know how I could review the most relevant and recent papers on my topic. How can I find the paper? How do I select a journal? How do I know the topic I am looking for is in this journal?

    Thank you for your explanations,
    can I submit a scientific article in a journal indexed in scopus Q1, but this article is based on a problem in an article that is not indexed in scopus??

    • @ScientificWritingwithKarenLMcK
      @ScientificWritingwithKarenLMcK  Год назад

      If the problem is an important one to address, then your article should be publishable. Are there other references on the topic?

    • @Mohamed-lj3cm

      @@ScientificWritingwithKarenLMcK I appreciate your response.
      Unfortunately, I will try to improve a method of the BEMD decomposition, which does not exist in other indexed references in Scopus.

    Is it a good idea to write an article about how to use a software?
    I wrote in the introduction that reading the manual is time consuming, and this paper could help ....
    Should I continue writing or should I not bother?

      If you are unsure, contact the journal you are planning to submit to and ask the editor if they would be interested in such an article.

    Excelente video muchas gracias. El problema que tengo es que no se qué servicio o método usar para que mi artículo esté en el idioma ingles sin errores. Tengo Pro Grammar Aid y también Grammarly pero creo que no es suficiente.

    • @ScientificWritingwithKarenLMcK
      @ScientificWritingwithKarenLMcK  3 года назад +1

      Antonio, thanks for your comment. I understand how difficult it must be for you to translate your papers into English for publication. Writing papers in English is hard for native speakers but more so for non-native speakers, which puts the latter at a disadvantage professionally (www.nature.com/articles/d41586-019-01797-0). Using aids like Pro Grammar Aid may not always help with subtle wordings so that they are correct in English.
