Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things. They ladies have perfected their own sound, you instantly know it's Band-Maid. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 1 for each of the Maids, they deserve it.
So. I saw them on Saturday in Spokane with five friends. It was amazing. My friends who go to concerts a lot didn’t want it to end. And one friend who wasn’t impressed by hearing the songs to the concert changed her mind after hearing them in concert. Gonna have to start a travel/concert fund to get tickets to the foreign bands that too my lists to watch.
Receipe for a BM cocktail: a chunk of Rinne, a spoon of Different, some slices of Sense, roll the Dice, Shake That to Unleash the flavors, then put it all in the Freezer.
I watched this and then I watched them at Lollapaluza. One of the best live performances I have ever seen...and I'm going back almost 50 years for the others. I could try to string a whole bunch of superlatives together...but I'm going with just one. JOYFUL!!!!! Life is worth living with this band in the world.
Love the relentless attack of this song, just no let up from start to finish. Saiki mentions the word "Shura" which is defined as 'a situation of endless and brutal fighting', which sums this whole experience up very well!
How they manage to get all this stuff done while also touring for like 2 years straight is incredible to me. They are dedicated to the craft like none other. An incredible song and I like the message of the lyrics.
From Japan「人間万事塞翁が馬」 Ningen-Banji-Saiougauma It's a parable that you don't know when happiness will turn into unhappiness, and unhappiness will turn into a long life, there are fun and happy things, but there are also painful and sad things, but what is happiness and what is unhappiness cannot be decided immediately. In a long life, there are fun and happy things, but there are also painful and sad things, but what is happiness and what is unhappiness cannot be decided immediately. Really enjoy the heaviness, and once again they make a bridge that just elevates the entire song. Its probably their most underrated talent. Most bridges are just meandering filler; Kanami writes something that deserves its own song or changes it up in an entirely new and exciting way. No filler for this band. Hoping they’ll play this tonight!
Add it to the list of amazing songs from this band. Gets better every time I hear it. See you at the show tonight. New song and a show on the same day, can’t get better then that!
This fuckin band... amirite? 😂 What an insane behemot of a song, so heavy and thunderous (thanks Akane for another masterclass on drumming) yet so catchy and, as you said, beautiful in a way. Band-Maid are on their own league since 2016 and nobody can touch them... redefining hard rock song after song! Well Ryan, thanks for the reaction and enjoy the okyujis!, let the maids know how much we love their music and their personalities
Hey Ryan 🍻. Saiki's look in the thumbnail makes me shiver, ice cold and full of fire at the same time. Guess i'm finally in love with her 😍. Hmmm i already promised myself to Kiyoshi 🤔 😵🤯.
An Akane and Misa special delivery song. This will be awesome live - i feel an extended intro might get a run too. Best thing - Saiki got to say "Sai and Kyo" in a song - slight smile when she says it too. Great band - great song.
Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid. So exactly whose show was it? It was the Maid's show, as usual! 🤘🎀🤘
Beloved little genius Kanami deserves the title ' fast hand' - those flying fingers so perfectly accurate. Brilliant composition and arrangement in every respect and everyone performing at another level. The most talented and best performing band in the world by a country mile.
About to see them live for the third time. They are just life changing. I've seen many of the greats in their time (Purple, Sabbath, Queen, many more) and the Maids, live can stand on the stage with any of them.
NASA need to watch Ryan counting down to a BM lift off to see how it's really done 👍 How much butt will this gift of a song kick live 🤯 and more inspiration lyrics wise, what a band, fcken rock and roll Valkyries. To quote the Mears - Holy Fck that's amazingly - Viva the Maids peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎤🎸🍻
Rolling Stone had good things to say about the maids: Japanese Rockers Band-Maid Put Guitar Center Showoffs to Shame There’s a pun to be made about how much Band-Maid ripped, but the Japanese group goes even harder than that. Fluctuating between hard rock, aughts nu-metal, and pop rock, each member of the quintet is a virtuoso in her own right with more than a decade of practice in Band-Maid alone. They lured curious onlookers into the fold when highlights like “Domination” and “Don’t You Tell Me” got huge reactions from the crowd, but it was the bass solo-versus-guitar solo duels mid-song that got the biggest cheers. This is what those guys in Guitar Center think their ridiculous riffing sounds like. Turns out it’s done best, and most effortlessly, by women in black-and-white maid dresses and frilly hair-pieces as they smile ear to ear. -N.C.
Back to the classic Band-Maid hard rock sound that I really love.Yesss!!! Akane must have needed 2 bananas after that display of continuous drum fills. She hardly sat in a pocket for the whole song. I don't know how she can play like that. Her little arms are just like knots on cotton. But she was in full gorilla mode for this one. And Misa was right there with her on the bass. They laid down such a foundation for the whole song.
Ryan mate! Greetings on a hellishly hot day after spending half an hour watering the roof garden I am looking after! I woke up during the night to listen to your reaction on my android far away from the bedroom where the Dragon would have smoldered me! Now, 10 am listening properly to you on my headphones and computer! Band Maid have come of age (Adult artists), haven't they? This is pure but so melodic metal, Band Maid Metal! This is probably the fastest Akane has gone through the ceiling and roof. Misa... one day she will have to feature in a song/piece with her bass only! Climbing another step up... Kanami, sweet and wild as ever. I was struck by the fact that her solo was a pure continuation of the whole song. What does she have in her sleeve for the coming album. Miku is busier than usual at her guitar, demonstrating her continuing progress. Her vocals and harmonizing deeper than usual... Saiki is in her "Influencer mode". She will break many a heart with her adult and cheeky attitude. She is a woman, full stop! Some infantile purist band Maid fans will be shocked! This is raw rock/metal, but so harmonious and so complicated it took me four listenings before grasping most of it! Ryan, thank you so much for your reaction and looking forward to yours when the album is published! Best regards to the three of you and Robert! Robert-Gilles
A great new song, a concert tonight- this is way better than Christmas. How the hell do they have the time??? Not only are they the best band in the universe but they're the hardest working. Bless the Maids, they are phenomenal.
Wow! What a song! Thanks Ryan. Can't believe you guys are going to hear this live! I wish they had done this before Detroit. lol. Enjoy the show in Chicago and Minneapolis. Wish I was there, but waiting to hear your thoughts on the Okyuji's. 😃
Ryan, thanks for the reaction. Also, does Konami have a new PRS Guitar? Man I loved this song - each one of the ladies have stepped it up another notch. Fantastic!!!!!
i think akane and misa's playing set the warehouse on fire. :) great song! when you guys (maybe) hear this on Sunday, just curious if the background harmonies during the bridge are miku & kanamicho or just miku overdubbed?
The Saiki breath at the end made me sweaty. I might have to fight mincho for Saiki's hand in marriage. I don't think I can overcome that mincho power stance, though. Oh, right, the song! Yeah, that was really good, too.
As Aug 11th is drawing closer and my excitement is growing to have a serving, I never imagined that upon waking up today a new song would have dropped, subarashii!
Congrats to Band-Maid, I'm hoping for a new EP built on this song, and, and, and Mincho's riff, looking forward to a deep dive from you, have a great time tonight, how great if they premiere it live tonight.
Hey Ryan. Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Band-Maid air Shambles live on the upcoming US dates or at Yokohama Arena in November. No doubt they'll end up filming that show for yet another DVD/Blu-Ray release, most likely next year. Happy to hear that you'll be catching them live yet again during their next run of dates on your side of the pond. Akane simply went off!!! The main drum sections sounded like Back to back fills. She’s ear candy. No need to mention MISA… Goddess of bass. ❤
How they manage to get all this stuff done while also touring for like 2 years straight is incredible to me. They are dedicated to the craft like none other. An incredible song and I like the message of the lyrics.
