Very impressive. One thing I'd say is I've always liked inbuilt wardrobe space in every bedroom, unless it is merely a short term guest room. And some way to build one of those new vacuum lifts, especially as one gets older..

Thanks for your great content it’s super helpful to watch all your videos.
We’re in the process of buying a very similar Victorian house in London currently but are feeling a bit daunted by the amount of work.
If it’s not too much trouble, please are you able to share resources you used or how you learned to do all of this? Things like books etc if they were used.
We’re starting as absolute novices so a little apprehensive. Thankyou again for your great content.

    • @fishslappr

It's too much to learn, you cant and shouldnt do it yourself.
Even if you did learn it you'd doubt yourself without the experience.
You need professionals who've done it before. Start with an architect. Go for a local small to medium sized business. Ask to see similar jobs they've done in the past and go from there.
(Im a structural engineer who's worked on many such houses in London.)

Well done and great talk through what you did, I'll have to binge-watch your earlier videos now! Mower made me laugh, robot too expensive - yet you look at how expensive the final result of your house is, but you can tell that's down to your hard work and managing.

Um, fluorescent lighting, such as you put in the basement, will really jack up your light bill in a place where you really don't need it! "Nice effects" are not needed in the basement! Better to put that along the staircase for safety at night. But wow! A lot of work and it looks great, overall. Storage is everything. Closets, cupboards, and a back shed for your garden tools? Why expensive underfloor heating in bathrooms where you spend a very small amount of time?

i must say you have excellent vision on how to create a fabulous home how long did this project take you , and what was the average working week you put in to the project . alot off people try this to do everything that they can , but become tired and burnt out when things dont go right ! due to inexperience .thats when costs start to rise sharply once they start to employ contractors . but even so if you have got the mojo then give ita go . i have subscribed to your channel and given u the thumbs up . good luck on your next project all the best for 2023 . mark

Hey Chris, hope you had a good Christmas on the continent. Glad to see another video up. This year I did my own renovation in cheltenham, however have recently taken a job in the city so am I looking to move to London (and do another reno)… I don’t know London at all and have 0 preference on where to live, looking to get a good bargain. Out of interest are you happy to give a rough location of where this is? (I appreciate if you want to leave it as vague as possible) or maybe a video soon on how you searched to find a bargain/did the valuation on what work would make money?

I'm currently working on a Buy to Let up in Crewe and have come to know all of the people in places such as Wickes and B&Q etc lol. Your property is looking great, how many tenants are you hoping to have? Will it be a Buy to Let or a HMO?

Extending into the garden,ok if you like, though the downside is you have less garden. You have more house space to heat and clean. Also the neighbours have a building slightly overshadowing their garden instead of more light from the sky or nice plants shrubs and trees. Just saying.

You've done a quality job, but this isn't my cup of tea. I'm more of a preservationist. I'm not a fan of turning an old historic home into a modern home. I believe these homes should be restored, not renovated. But it's ultimately your home to do with as you wish. I just think that if you want a modern home than you should buy a modern home or build one. I do think that You've done beautiful work though.
