    • @dehypnotizerz
      @dehypnotizerz Год назад +3

      Yes, but Chris was as close as humanly possible. Loureiro completely fucked up this solo. I'm a musician I was taught one thing: when you play your shit, do whatever the hell you want. HOWEVER, when you play someone's piece, play it CORRECTLY.

    • @JohnLonguini
      @JohnLonguini Год назад +1

      @@dehypnotizerz Who taught you this probably never created an original song in their life, only copied and played covers or most probably you didn't understand what they meant lol.
      First "i'm a musician" trying to give any credit to your comment is stupid, most people here are probably musicians as well and KIKO is a better musician than us all, so you're trying to use an idiotic credibility.
      Second, there are two types of current band members playing former members pieces: the ones that try to copy and the ones that try to make it their own, as seen above with Chris and Kiko respectively. Nothing wrong with trying to play it perfectly, although that's an impossible task not even Marty plays his solos perfectly and of course, absolutely nothing wrong on changing it a bit. In fact, guitarists that don't copy but infuse their style into other's solo usually are the BEST and MOST CREATIVE players.
      That's why Kiko gave us the best albums since Friedman's era in my and most of the fans and critics opinion.
      So if you want to listen to the album solos GO LISTEN TO THE ALBUM! Live shows are supposed to be different, music is passion, is art, the best players put their feelings into their music and if you were a good musician you would know that. Bad musicians copy, good ones BREATHE the music out.
      So once again, who taught you that "when you play someone's pieces play it correctly" was probably meaning for you to not make MISTAKES, not butcher the music, to not play off key and etc. Tips i'd give to my beginner students, not to a world-class musician.
      Now i can't comprehend the level of arrogance a person has to have to say that one of the best guitar player in the world is fucking up something because they didn't play it like it was recorded 30 years ago. The internet, a really strange place.

I like Chris version more than Marty's live version, every other guitarist i heard played this solo always tried to match Marty play note for note, which is impossible to outplay Marty... But chris played like he own it and change lil bit here and there, like listen closely to the build up before Marty bend the string in 0:31 and Chris in 1:44 its not the same, this solo will always be one of his most memorable moment in his time in Megadeth...

    This is a perfect solo created by Marty. To this day my favorite Megadeth song because of it. He's a total beast.
    Chris does a fine job, but you get the feeling he's exactly doing that, a job. No heart in it.
    Kiko does what a perfect solo deserves, don't mess too much with it, but put in it what's in your soul. That makes him an accomplished artist.

      I've played guitar since the early 80's and don't go to watch guitar players mimic others. If Kiko wants to add his own way of playing it whilst adding his own special sauce, for me, that's better than just rolling off a copy and sounding like some talented kid in the local guitar store on a Saturday. Take the essence of what the solo is and make it your own. IF it's something like the slow parts off Hotel California or Freebird, you gotta replicate it, but if it's a full on exhibition of vibrato and passion like this solo then you just gotta give it what you got - full guns blazing, in your own style. When you have one of the great metal lead players - like Marty, Schenker, Van Halen, Yngwie, etc (you get the idea) you're not going to out play them or sound better than then at their own game. Add YOUR own spice to it and play it how you need to. If you're in Megadeth, you're probably not hired to sound like someone else.

      Dirty Harry - Maybe thats the reason. Our brains are hardwired to "like" or "expect" certain note combos (chords, scales, tridas..blah blah music theory blah blah) so when he misses those notes it gives it that famous Mar-tay "flow" / "feeling" / "humanization". And like is said here already, it's his solo and a bit faster.
      Broderick has some dope stuff on Endgame but he's too much like xerox machine. (thats a machine that makes photocopies, for anyone born before 2000). If you take a shit on one and press copy, it doesn't come out smelling good or bad, but neither does a rose. Chris's Tornado solo ruined the Rust anniversary concert for me. Which then ruined his Deth Cred with me. Let that be a warning to all..Fuck up 99 Ways to Die, Liar, or Tornado. Instant loss of Deth Cred. And this vid was from when he just got in Deth. Looked a bit dickish with the winks. He's playing for In Flames now it looks like. hmmm
      Kiko was pretty rad on Dystopia.(Damn that album is 3 years old already...wait that means Endgame is 10 later this year.) Can't leave fair feedback on his Tornado skills here, due to the sound quality of video. No offense Flavio! Always a top Deth debate question!! ESPECIALLY for a song almost 30 years old.
      Lets add this to the debate, yes it was professionally recorded. Yes, he looks like he's thinking about what Simpson's episode is on that night, but he puts it down. ruclips.net/video/tXpbfFmH3Zs/видео.html

Marty is truely an incredible artist and plays with so much feeling he rarely ever played that solo the same way, when he runs down the neck is different in every video, that's the way an artist plays as opposed to a technician...

    I loved all of them, Chris plays it so perfect and sweeps sound more fluid like than anybody else’s. Marty plays it w out sweeping, he picks all of the notes and plays the scale which sounds unique to him. Kiko simplifies it and makes it his own w more hammer ons. He is the bravest cuz he really makes it his. Like I said though I loved all of them!!

    Well, I'd say that Marty Friedman's solo Is the best here, not only because he wrote it, but also because of the feel he's given it. Both the slow parts (at the bends) and the shreds have been infused with the appropriate feel. The other two are mainly technical people, and especially Chris Broderick, who sounds quite mechanical. Great musicians all of them! B-)

    • @SilkRobes

      nice sum up. I felt Broderick to be the most technical. But It's the whole package that counts.

    • @theslashclone666

      Kiko is definitely a badass in my book, but the reason why Chris has that air of confidence (or, in your words, cocky arrogance, either terms could be used) is he's a straight monster on the fretboard. Mechanical like playing? Yeah. But that's because he has such high skill. Just the intro to Act of Defiance's "Throwback" makes me feel like nothing could compare to him. It's crazy how much ability he has.

The point is that Broderick and Loureiro are not trying to play it like Friedman instead they're playing their own versions with some little changes as remarks and without losing its spirit. This is beauty of music played by very talented musicians. What a history written by Megadeth!
