It would run from Vientiane, the capital of Laos, to Boten, a town located on the Laos-China border. The railway was expected to be a high-speed railway, and bullet trains were likely to be the primary mode of transportation on this route. The train's maximum speed was estimated to be around 160-200 kilometers per hour (99-124 miles per hour).

CR 200J= Higher Speed rail/Medium speed rail. Don't High Speed rail (HSR).
