I grew in beaver County. We left when the steel mills collapsed. Your videos bring me home.

Made me homesick. I lived up on Oak Hill on 4th Street, but I remember all of what you showed. Thanks for sharing, and I hope to see more.

I think the Clyde House use to be by Rosalind. My great grandfather Fred Frantz use to live there n we would pick him up for holiday dinners. Those were the days. Love these videos.

Nice one! Downtown NewBrighton seems less boarded up/vacant than Beaver Falls & Aliquippa. Love the Canada Geese and Mallards on the river, and the train in the background. Is that Keystone sign still on the hillside coming into New Brighton? I really enjoy these videos, know you're busy but wish you could do one a week... even though i'm in California many years, i'm still a Monaca girl at heart :)

On the opposite corner from the Y was the old Islay's Ice cream fountain this was in the late 1940's to very early 1950's, I was a member of the Y from 1955 up to 1958. As kids we had to swim naked, every boy got rubbed on the back and arms to make sure that we had showered completely. On the days women had access to the pool, they could swim wearing a bathing suit or swim naked. Several of us boys would go to the block windows above the pool and if you looked through the blocks correctly we could see the naked women. Next time you go past the Y, stop and go look through the glass blocks and you'll see why it attracted us 12-year-olds. Back then we were afraid we would get caught. In the tunnel to the river back then there were steps up to train platforms, where trains never stopped. We would go up to smoke cigarettes and boy talk. I left New Brighton after graduating in June '65' and joined the Merchant Marines in Nov 1965. I only visited Beaver County 8 times since then, but I want to retire there as soon as I can, I'll soon be 80 years old.I still work and tough as the Old Falston Bridge. At present, I live in Puerto Rico, and have been here since 1981. My kids, my wife want to visit and/or live there. First, we have to sell our house and properties on the Island. Thanks for the video.

I so enjoyed your tour of Brighton. So many memories. I lived in Marion Hills which is so sad to see now but went to school in Brighton and loved it. GOOD JOB!
