How to Crochet Two Color Granny Square for a Baby Blanket, Afghan, Pillow, Crochet Video Tutorial

- In this video I would like to show you how to crochet a beautiful, two-color granny square that can be used to make a baby blanket, full size afghan, cushion cover, etc. I made a baby blanket.
This pattern looks the best when worked in two contrasting colors (something light, and something dark). But for the purpose of the tutorial I use two light color yarns because crochet stitches are difficult to see on dark yarn.
Materials for the baby blanket:
Feels Like Butta yarn by Lion Brand (100% polyester, category 4), 5 skeins (3 in color yellow and two in color teal). (500 grams in total)
Hooks sizes F (3.75 mm)
Finished size: 30 by 30 inches

Hello…I was so excited when I found this tutorial!!! I saw a blanket like this and fell in love. It looked so complicated and I was determined to find how to do it…it is so gorgeous and easy but looks so intricate and complicated. I am going to start off with a pillow front panel and work the back panel in a plain one color granny square and put them together. Then work a blanket. That's a brilliant design! I wonder if it will also look good in any other granny shape - rectangular, round, triangular etc.
Debbie from the channel Canadian Crocheter made it in a rectangular shape and it looks great (she recently made a video about it). She also had the idea of making small granny square from the leftover yarns and connecting them into a bigger piece. So yes, I think it will look great in other shapes too!

I just finished this pattern in a baby blanket. I finished it with a box stitch border and it's just lovely. Will be using it again. It took me three days to finish it I couldn't put it down lol.
I have made this a couple of times now. It is lovely with a self striping yarn and light color for the granny stitch. I'm making one now with a varigatded yarn that has some short color changes but works perfectly with this pattern. It is definately in my top 5 favorite patterns to work:)
