My husband was abused physically and had cancer as a child, when i met him he stuttered so bad he could barely state his name. Today he speaks clearly, is cancer free, and a great father to both our children. The victory belongs to Jesus!!❤❤❤HES ALL I NEED!!!👍🏽🙋🏾‍♀💯✌🏾🙏🙏

When you're truly born again of the holy spirit there is no way you will be comfortable in sin expecting someone to put up with your sin for the rest of their lives. At some point you will have to turn from sin and chase a life that pleases God.

Having spent 3 years in a very toxic relationship, I believe if the person you are with first admits they have an issue, then are willing to work through it, then it’s worth the work….although there will be trying times. If they are not willing, then you decide how much you can take, and for how long.

I’m thinking of the women who stuck by their man like his wife stuck by him only to never get the acknowledgment that he gave his wife. A lot of women have to walk away broken, hurt, wasted time, low appreciation for trying to show their man they will stick it through, work with them etc

The thing is we walk in obedience to God, and fight for our husbands. If after all of that, he chooses to leave, then I look at God and smile because I know that He is pleased with me. Your time and prayers for your husband are never wasted with God no matter the outcome. We hold our heads high and continue to walk in peace and love because our Heavenly Father is happy with us and that's all that matters.

“Go to therapy before you get married” I agree with this as a person who is currently in therapy, and would like to be married one day. I think therapy provides you with the tools to maintain health relationships and boundaries. Often times we think nothing is wrong with us until we get in a relationship or marriage we learn more about ourselves through the other person. It’s so important to try and work through what you can to maintain your marriage, but it’s also important to know when something no longer serves you.

I was always there for my husband, prayed, stood by his side with music and ministry. Tried to help him with past traumas but he didn’t want to change. He abandoned me and our three kids, had another lady paying his bills. I sent this to him and his response was thank you and how his girlfriend was his rock and supports him in his ministry. We have been married 10 years going on 11. Stuck through verbal and emotional abuse and I prayed he would get the help he needed for us and be the man of god I always seen in him. Now he is for his mistress. I love hearing how marriages get restored and how God completely heals spouses to become better. I just wished our was like this.

We can be there just for a moment and then when it’s over, the light comes on for that person to be a better person. To be honest. This is why more & more women don’t want to get married. Men address your traumas before marriage. Women shouldn’t have to go through unnecessary hell. The compliment is you showed up the best healed & single version of yourself & your wife stood by your side when life got rough.

Sometimes people, both men and women, don’t know they even experienced trauma. Even with the recent acceptance of getting therapy, some people are still un aware of what resources are out there. Also, rough times come to all marriages. The Bible says everything had to be tried by the fire. Some things don’t appear until years later that will test both people in a marriage. A person can try to prepare, which is good to do so. There is just things that you can’t even foresee, that will come up and cause you to question yourself and your marriage. I think that it is important that both have a relationship with Jesus, because complete sanctification won’t take place until we have been glorified with Christ. It’s a process.

This doesn't mean that someone should stay in an abusive, verbally abusive, mentally abusive, don't want to work, stealing from you, and disrespectful relationship. Learn the difference from a disagreement and disrespectful relationships. Some folks you are pouring into are like a cup with a hole in the bottom. Know matter how much you pour into the cup, it will never become full. The pain of staying in those relationships can wear you out over time, and if you are not completely focused on GOD, pain will cause you to do some sinful things. Use discernment in your relationships. Sometimes, holding on will destroy you and your relationship with GOD.

My opinion of Lacrae just drastically changed after listening to this. I hear a lot of wisdom and discernment that came from a lot of pain and suffering... lessons of hard knocks. Wisdom that came from following in the steps of Solomon (chasing after vanity). I can't relate to the childhood traumas, but my wife can. My fears, weakness and insecurities caused me not to be there for her because I put up walls to protect myself which left her isolated and alone to some degree. Trials and pain reveal our strengths or lack thereof. There's a lot said that is convicting for me because i like control, and I don't like pain, so if I can control the environment, then I can control the risk of pain... to some degree. I would force change in others if I could... absolutely... but I have to learn to live in and dwell in grace rather than "rules". I find security in "rules" and tend to be like the older brother of the prodigal... thinking of myself. Rules are good, but when they are applied selfishly, then you have legalism and oppression. It's sin of elevating my opinion above God's which is idolatry of self.... my biggest struggle.
Before watching this, I didn't think Lacrae could teach me anything, but I was wrong. Thank you, Lacrae. I needed to hear that.

I have been a huge fan for years! I grew up in a Christian household and also a broken household. At one house I could only listen to worship music and at my dads he would listen to hip hop all the time. I got turned on to your music and it inspired me so much. Your testimony is powerful. I think it is telling how strong of a leader you are with your willingness to dive deep and to get vulnerable. I am recently married and have been with my girl for over 6 years, and I too did not deal with my traumas. My father committed suicide when I was 15 and I started to cope with that in a very negative way. I became addicted to porn and realized a lot later that my father was heavily addicted which led to my parents divorce due to infidelity. I grew up with a similar mindset, I want to be nothing like my father and want to break those generational sins that have been passed down. I had a moment where everything came to the surface and my wife decided to stand by my side because she too believed that the Lord would pull me out of my rut if I truly repented and put forth the effort. Praise be to the Lord that I was able to get my act together and I am closer to Jesus than I have ever been. Your message is inspiring, your music is still inspiring and I hope you know that the Lord has given you this platform to help people like me. Your testimony is powerful and don’t ever believe that you’re unworthy because of your fall. Much love!

As someone who has been through all the types of childhood trauma, including all the trauma Lecrae mentioned, this really hit home for me. I really needed to hear this, especially as a “baby in Christ” who’s been a Christian for a little over a year, but I didn’t truly start following Jesus until late 2020… This not only encouraged me to share my story and testimony, but it also convicted me. And I REALLY needed that conviction. Thank you for being so transparent and vulnerable in sharing just part of your story Lecrae. I’ve been really inspired by your music and all your podcasts here on RUclips. You are anointed and God is using you in big ways for the Kingdom of Heaven. I’ve been praying for you and your family and just prayed for y’all again. Seriously thank you for keeping it real and raw. I needed this inspiration and encouragement ❤

My wife's style of loving me is acts of service and speaking love to me (not in lovey-dovey way) but through affirmations. What you said to "live in reality" hits home. I'm learning how to love my wife after 12 years of marriage and I'm finally getting it. She's the realist and I'm the romantic.

So many gems!! Lecrae, thank you! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being honest, transparent and real with us. You've dropped so much wisdom, encouragement, chastisement, counsel and reassurance for me (for us). I hope this helps people who feel skeptical about therapy and marriage counselling to try it out. I also think Christians need to be more open to the truth, skills and empowerment that therapy brings to our real lives. All truth is God's truth and the truth in therapy CAN CHANGE LIVES! It's expensive (in most cases) but worth it (always!) I really appreciate what you've said about true, real love. There's a lot of societal pressure to have ''Instagrammable love'' but life is hard, and we need real love! Also, shoutout to all the wives who are battling, supporting, praying for, upholding and holding their husbands accountable in secret...Away from the limelight. This series would not be as impactful without Mrs. Lecrae's dedication and love for her husband. Thank you Ma'am!! :) Lastly...(lol) THANK YOU JESUS for your faithfulness, for your healing, for your transformation in Lecrae's life and everything that you are doing in our hearts and lives! You are the true Healer and Redeemer of our souls. (This restores my hope in what God is doing in this generation!) k, baaai! :)

Lecrae, I swear we could best friends. I had Thanksgiving yesterday (Saturday) with 2 friends, 2 sisters and my niece. The only guy there, he asked my family and friend questions about relationships. He is 35, has a teenage son, comes from a broken home and is the ONLY one in his family breaking the cycle. This, for the most part, is spot on what to what they were telling him.
I so appreciate your vulnerability in telling your story, warts and all. I have loved your music, i have read your books and while I hate that you have had to endure these traumas in your life, I do belive that this generation both balck and white need your success, your story. There are people just like you but will not share because of being ashamed.
I don't always get to watch these videos but I feel like this one right here, with your story, was His intervention so that I can pass it on to my friend. Much love and respect. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Your husband has to be willing. God created us with free will, we’re not robots. He will not force your husband to change. He might put situations and trials in front of your husband to tell him or convict him to change his ways, but He won’t do it for him.
I’m sorry for what you’re going through. Please get involved in a church. Please get marriage counseling. If he doesn’t go, still go. Stay prayed up and get more strong women around you.

And personal opinion, as a man- you should tell him to man up and to stop treating you like a punching bag. It’s not fair to you and it does not honor God. That is of course as long as he’s not abusive… otherwise that could end badly. In that case I’d suggest you get divorced.

Matthew 18:18 what so ever you deem unlawful on earth bind on earth and in heaven and loose what you deem lawful in heaven on earth… (paraphrasing)
There is a lot I could release but first know that arming yourself with the armor of Christ and binding up any satanic or strife/mean spirit in the house that is influencing him is a big part of attacking what is coming against you… the enemy wants to use the closest vessel to come against you
You love him… but love him while you rebuke that which is coming against you and your marriage
You have power! You can ask the Holy Spirit to help you fight and to war against the things you can’t see and then you can speak life over him, yourself and your home!
The blessing and life is in the tongue. It’s so much easier said than done but once the tears are gone get mad not at your husband but at the enemy and you be reminded of who you are in the word of God that you cling to and see the peace of God manifest in you while your husband is undone by the peace that surpass both your understanding… and then stand in doing all you can in the war room of prayer while getting focused on Jesus and allowing him to cleanse you, prepare you for the calling in the marriage as who you are as a woman, wife and mother of children and talents and gifts he gave you from birth.
      I hope this helps!
