    Could use some advice for cycling my 15 gallon last Thursday night using the whole FritzZyme Turbo Start 900 1oz bottle and a cap full of Dr. Tim’s ammonia. That Sunday I added two hermit crabs and 2 turbo snails along with algae wafers for them to feed on (all are doing fine) . So today I tested my water and these are my results nitrite 1.0 ppm, ammonia is turquoise so I’d say 4.0 ppm and nitrate is 80ppm . My question is should I wait it out or do a water change to get levels down ? I also ordered some FritzZyme 9 Nitrifying Bacteria was going to add it to the tank Saturday to get the ammonia down.

    • @colsonscritters
      @colsonscritters  Год назад +1

      Definitely wait it out! I would have waited to add the inverts as well but that’s ok. Definitely add nitrifying bacteria, I personally use brightwell’s microbacter 7 but fritz works as well.

      How long has the tank been running? Did you use live rock? And/or Live sand? My initial reaction is to wait it out.

    • @colsonscritters
      @colsonscritters  Год назад

      We don’t really do anything special for them. They are pretty easy just put them in, they will move around until they find a spot they like and we just make sure our water parameters are good and the fish are fed.

    my experience with keeping fish and them eating corals is a lot of it has to do with feeding and then even if u are feeding better then u may just have to remove the fish. Tho I believe ppl never try and increase their feeding rather than just getting rid of it asap.

    • @colsonscritters
      @colsonscritters  Год назад +1

      Trust me my dad feeds A LOT and I mean A LOT A LOT. Hahaha but yeah this is true.

      Removing fish is always my last option. I love my fish!!! I bought those acrylic covers for all my meaty LPS but what’s the point if you just come look at your tank and all acrylic cases. :/ colson will find them a good home.
