Jazz greats…Just for her❗️ “I’m not crying . . . I just have a little Angelina in my eye.” 😇🌸
Awww. Great comment.
Republic Records built Angelina her own studio and have to imagine many of the top songwriters, musicians and producers are excited to visit her studio to make magical music with her.
That was Jimmy Z on harmonica & sax, he was with Etta James for 16 years, along with Elvis Costello, Eurythmics & many others. He said Angelina is the most talented singer he's ever played for.
One of the most iconic Christmas songs ever recorded is The Christmas Song, which was first sung by Nat King Cole in 1946. Since then, many famous singers, such as Sinatra, have tried to recreate the magic of this song, but none have succeeded as well as a 15-year-old Angelina Jordan from Norway. Her voice is captivating and soulful, and she brings a fresh and modern twist to this classic tune.
An elite band and AJ singing classics, doesn't get any better
💕
The harmonica player is James Zavala, aka Jimmy Z, the saxophonist on "Driving Home for Christmas". The pianist is 39 year old Victoria Fatu who "...is recognized internationally for performances of deep musical expression, charismatic temperament and sparkling technique." (Vicky has her own RUclips channel!) So, Angelina is attracting some highly talented musicians to her Republic Records studio, built specifically for her. I'm excited for Angelina's 18th birthday coming up one month and a day after today (Dec. 9). I hope that will open the doors for LP's and radio play, and whatever else it takes to make Angelina Jordan a household name. She has certainly put in the time and effort towards fulfilling her dream of being a superstar. 💕
She shines brighter than any super star💕
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for the beautiful reaction at this song. I loved the choice of Angelina to finally in this EP make some of the songs from her wonderful Christmas concert 2 years ago accessible to everyone, I loved them then and I love them even more now. The new rereading of "Driving home" is beautiful, perfect in the musical accompaniment in countervoice with that wonderful musical jazz breath that is Angie's voice. I like the imagination, respect and elegance with which she treat these songs, I can hope for the future, but I love this her musical present. 💛🧡❤
Thank you! 😊😊😊😊😊😊 👍👍
My pleasure
Hello, Neighbor. Can't have just one of Angelina Jordan's Christmas songs. Yes, that harmonica gives this a cool vibe. So jazzy with surprises. All of the songs contain delightful surprises. Delicious, that run, isn't it? Just love the brushed snares. Yes, you're talking about the textures, and you're saying it just right. I agree with you. Just gorgeous and elegant. I agree with what you say here. Lovely reaction. Grandma Ellen, out with a ho-ho-ho.
I love “ out with a ho ho ho” 💕💕💕
I loved it too. Those runs you talk about is from her Iranian grandmother. The Iranian way of singing is to use lots of notes for each syllable. Love your reactions to our Angel.
joey Grandma doesn't sing.
Thank you.💕
I like that she stayed with the original melody throughout, especially on the octave and minor seventh jumps that begin the phrases---which she did well on. The best recording I've heard on the album IMO.
I like that, too
❤💫
Just a wonderfully sincere and thoughtful commentary on this performance. Angelina her self is special, and she had the benefit in this concert of working with the finest musicians in the industry who have legendary backgrounds. Your support of Angelina makes you a role model for other channels as she and all aspiring artists need and deserve the recognition. Thanks for all and peace out.
Thank you so much. I appreciate you and the love you show her.
When I stop and think, it's really extraordinary how many people (reactors and fans alike) have stated "That's the best version of that song I've ever heard" Not only this song, but many many of her other covers as well. She puts so much magic into her singing, it often leaves me starry eyed. Glad to see you feeling better! Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you💕
Thanks for sharing Red, I enjoyed your reaction for this favourite Christmas song.
Thank you!
Same to yu🎉
There is not another vocalist doing Angelina is doing. The best voices and best musician's. Perfection from the first note to the last.
Love your reaction and analysis Neighbor. This band is one of the most talented group of musicians Angelina has performed with. This recording was actually done in 2021 when Angelina was fifteen. It was a pay-per-view livestream concert (Dec. 23, 2021) and the audio was just released as part of Angelina’s Christmas EP.
Rob Christie at Republic Records (Angelina’s regular pianist) put together this band of multi-Grammy award winning musicians for the concert. Rob plays guitar on this song and the others on the album.
The Drum player is Gregg Field, the son-in-law of Henry Mancini. Gregg has plated with Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart and others. The pianist is Shelly Berg, a Grammy award winning performer and composer and an educator.
The absolutely beautiful harmonica solo was performed by Jimmy Zavala. His saxophone can also be heard on “Driving Home For Christmas” which you already reacted to.
This same group of musicians can be heard on the other tracks to this EP. I can’t wait to hear you opinion of the rest of Angelina’s Christmas songs on this album.
💚💚🎄💚💚 🌴👣
Wonderful info! Thank you so much!
I have to agree with you. This is now my favorite version of this song EVER. 💫
Beautiful reaction! And I agree with you, this is the best rendition of this song I have heard. I may have said it before, but this recording is taken form her digital Christmas concert on December 23rd 2021, when she was 15. She is SUCH a wonderful singer. No wonder she is the favorite of so many. Now I'm looking forward to see what you think of the other 3 on the EP as well, IF you go there. I hope you will. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥
I’m working on it!

Ormai Angelina canta per il cielo.
I hope the radio stations that play only Christmas music, play all these beautiful Holiday songs that Angelina has recorded.
Me, too!
AJ sings Christmas songs like no other. That warm fuzzy voice is delicious. And that harmonica is perfect.
Couldn't agree more!
🌟
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I’m glad you are feeling better. I agree it just doesn’t get any better than this. Merry Christmas
Angelina's voice is the ultimate jazz instrument! And, she knows how to use it!
Thanks for the reaction to our angel Angelina…she’s simply the best..👍👏👍👏
Thank you!
You are such a kind and beautiful soul, happy holidays!!
Thank you. Happy holidays 💕
Angelina sure knows how to get one in the Christmas spirit, just love it. Great choice again.
Thank you! 🤗
jimmy z again sax/harmonica...he had a funny story about etta james pulling his face into her bosom as he
was playing a harmonica riff and she was sceaming go jimmy go...
One heckuva...everything...vocal, piano, drums, harmonica, arrangement...!
Absolutely
Something i believe you would like is from Halestorm called I miss the misery the official video is absolutely fantastic.

Thank you redheaded neighbor that was an amazing reaction to our an amazing girl
Yes, when the harmonica came in, I thought of Willie Nelson right away. Somehow, it all works, and it’s refreshing to hear this different take on such a standard. One of the best results of Angelina signing with Republic Records is the amazing back-up music we’re getting to complement the voice that we’re here for.
Angelina is a musician as well as a singer, and this makes me think of 40’s and 50’s vintage tunes where the singer and the musicians were both given moments to shine. The music behind her on the Old Enough EP is good enough to notice, and this is more of the same.
🔥🔥🔥
Hey my redheaded friend on the internet! Loved this, so much that ive watched it 3 times already 😁 You pick up on the same things that I do when listening to music, but you word it much better than I could. Maybe thats why you are the reactor and I am the viewer. This band is something else, you can name any big artist from the last 60 years and one of them have played with them. Frank Sinatra, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Buble, Rod Stewart, Diana Ross, Carol King, Everly Brothers, Christina Aguilera, Kiss, Beach Boys, Josh Groban, Barry Manilow, Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Barbara Streisand and so on. 2 years ago they decided to come play and drink cocoa with a 15y old girl from Norway, and she blew them all away 💖
💕
Angelina, with her voice, makes those reindeer really fly. Jimmy z, one of the greatest saxophone players, was on harmonica for this song.
This is the bestest comment..🥹🥹🥹

Piano: Victoria Fatu for The Christmas Song
Victoria Fatu is a renowned pianist, composer and educator who has performed in prestigious venues around the world. She is known for her expressive and virtuosic interpretations of classical and contemporary repertoire, as well as her original compositions that blend elements of jazz, pop and ethnic music. She is also a passionate teacher who inspires her students to develop their musical skills and creativity. Victoria Fatu holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Southern California and is currently a professor of piano at West Virginia State University. © Larry D. Pifer
The Christmas Song is a classic holiday tune that was written by Mel Tormé and Bob Wells in 1945. The song was originally titled "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire" and was inspired by a heat wave that hit Los Angeles in July. The songwriters wanted to create a song that would evoke the feeling of winter and Christmas in contrast to the hot weather. The song was first recorded by Nat King Cole in 1946 and has since been covered by many artists, such as Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, and Michael Bublé. The song is known for its nostalgic lyrics that describe various aspects of the Christmas season, such as chestnuts, turkey, mistletoe, carols, and Santa Claus. The song is also notable for its opening line, "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost nipping at your nose", which is considered one of the most recognizable lines in American music history. © Larry D. Pifer
When she sing this style all I can picture is a scene from some movie from the sixties in some smoke filled club with a jazz band playing behind her.
I believe that there are many wonderful singers in the Here After watching Angelina and saying "You go, girl! You make us proud!. Thank you for saving our music"
💕
Even though this EP is just now released in 2023 - the performance was recorded in 2021 when Angelina was 15 years old - it was part of Angelina's online Christmas show.
Every song in this EP (except for Driving Home for Christmas) is from her 2021, on-line Christmas concert, when she was 15yo. The musicians playing with her were an all-star line-up.
Rob Christie is director of Republic Records LA studios, a super fan and close confidant of Angelina. He has worked with some very special musicians, who have backed some jazz greats (Etta James, Sinatra, Rod Stewart, Michael Buble, etc). He chose a team of these seasoned vets to backup Angelina for her first pay per view streaming concert two years ago. He even acted as host for the show and played guitar. Not as magical as live, but a thoroughly delightful evening because these guys understand and feel what Angelina does. There is a video from JoeyFarr1 that includes the entire concert. It may not be safe to use that content for a reaction but, as long as its up, you may want to listen to parts. This is also where "You Say" came from, though it was the only song that used a pre-recorded backing track.
Nice raction, she tends to put you in a good mood and relaxes you with her voice. She just did a concert over in Europe and sung Unchained Melody. Definitely worth checking out, it is even better than the Portsmouth version if you saw it.
I think this album will be the one people play every Christmas for decades to come...its just pure class, without a blip of auto tune anywhere....:)
Great point!
U R Glamorous RHN
Thank you! 💕
When she goes into that heartfelt 'Jazzy' mode it simply mesmerizes the listener.
She 'tweaks' this old time Christmas song in a way that reminds me so much of
Billie Holiday.
Have to say Red I've been following you since the beginning of your Angelina journey. This was by far, to me, your best reaction. You were so totally engulfed in the song, and your observances of the mix and different instruments was simply stunning. Well done!
Thank you so much! That means a lot!
Yes, that is the best version of 'The Christmas Song" I have ever heard. The jazzy arrangement, the harmonica, that smoky rich voice, those runs!
Yes!
I was surprised as well when that harmonica danced in! Deeper than what I'm used to from a 'typical' harmonica. My limited knowledge without google makes me think it's a larger (more holes for greater range) version. Nice, unexpected touch! Amazing keyboards as well! "Tickling the ivories" might be the phrase you were looking for? Your mention of the effortless run? THAT'S what I meant in the other video that Angelina often overdoes. In this, she didn't push it too far... it worked as an enhancement rather than a distraction! I 100% agree with your harmonica 'texture' remarks! With performances like this, she's starting to "win me back." Great reaction, as always!
Love this!
Angelina does her magic again. So gorgeously sung, I'm melting :) Also I MUST say both band and production here is SUPERB. They show her so much love and respect, and knowing the lineup here that really touches me. She is already so loved ❤
A good meal. perfect
Republic Records got some of the finest musicians to play for Angelina it was a Christmas pay per view show on 23rd Dec. 2021 she was still 15yo... they all had Grammy awards or nominations... the drummer has 8 Grammys ... its only now that these songs have been released. She was honoured to sing with them, I`m sure that she didn`t let them down. Also i love drummers using Brushes it makes it so Classy.
Now I can like Christmas music again!! she’s sooo good
💕
The guy playing the harmonica was Jimmy Z, one of the all time best saxophone and harmonica musicians (especially jazz)! All of the musicians in the 4 songs except for the title song were a group of the best, all are award winners, and all have played for some of the biggest stars in the music industry. Jimmy Z was the only one of the original group playing (sax) on the title song, Driving Home For Christmas. Considering that Angelina was only 15 when she did the Christmas concert (2021) and not yet a major superstar having those 5 guys willing to play for her concert was a huge honor! In my opinion her voice and vocal mastery and those 5 guys are the reason several of the songs from the concert are masterpieces (JMHO)!
Sad to think that I had to use the search bar to find it on iTunes. I keep checking the main page for any mention of her. Old enough had a brief mention, but I had to expand the row to see it.
I forgot--- Rob the director of RR on the west coast was MC and played guitar for all the songs she did on the 2021 concert, and according to the credits on Driving home for Christmas he also played piano and guitar on it so 2 of the original 5 played on Driving Home!
Angelina's band are a group of legendary musicians that have played for some legendary singers and bands! Rob Christie, a 2 time Grammy Winner, who plays guitar on this song, but also plays piano(you may have seen him in a number of videos with Angelina playing piano, such as Suspicious Minds and Easy On Me videos), is also the Studio Director at Republic Records (the company she is signed with) and her mentor. Then there is Chuck Berghofer, who played Bass for Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, MIchael Buble, an Seal to name a few, is playing Bass here. Then there is Jimmy Zavala, aka Jimmy Z, played harmonica here but is also a Saxophonist, and has played with Etta James, Rod Stewart, Dr. Dre, and The Eurythmics. And then there is Greg Fields, the drummer, an 8 time Grammy Winner, who has played with Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and many others, is also a producer who has worked with Ariana Grande, Josh Groban, and Placido Domingo. The pianist here was Victoria Fatu, an award winning Pianist, she is recognized internationally for performances of deep musical expression, charismatic temperament and sparkling technique. On the other songs on the EP, 5 time Grammy nominee Shelly Berg is on keyboard who has played for Patti Austin, Ray Charles, Renee Fleming, and even KISS!
Stop being suprise,Angelina can sing evryting, everywhere, rember she begin in very young and learn to singing jazz and sould, and learn to jus her voice, tone in watever she singing..she is unik, take it in and dont stop the song and just lissen to the end..👍😊💟
Howdy RHN! Our girl is so soulful and so tasteful singing this Christmas classic. I love the harmonica as well. What an amazing talent! Great reaction.
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 i like your reactions gr from Belgium
Thank you so very much!
Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California is Angelina's A&R person, and he has been working with AJ since she signed with the largest record company in the world at the age of 14, three years ago. Rob was the MC of AJ Christmas Show that aired Dec 23, of 21. AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision. © Larry D. Pifer
AJ now lives in West Hollywood in Los Angeles, where the record company Republic Records has built a separate music studio for her. She states, "I feel incredibly lucky to have been signed by one of the biggest record companies in the world. I have my own studio where I make my own music. There will also be a lot of concerts in the future because I have released an EP. I will soon go on a world tour and play my songs, (This was stated to TV2 in Norway on Aug. 21, 2023) © Larry D. Thanks so very much and keep up the great work!!!

Once again you are right on with your reaction!!!
Her voice is simply magical! Your nature reminds me of an older version of Angelina. You seem like a very sweet, sincere, kind lady;) Very calming disposition;)
That is such a kind thing to say. Thank you.
The harmonica is played by Jimmy Zavala, as does the saxo ;)
The harmonica is being played by the same man who played on The Eurythmics' version of Demolition Man and was Etta's sax and harmonica man for 16 years
the video's of Angelina's Christmas 2021 concert are now available on Angelina's Chanel under releases

I have seen your reactions to Home Free and now this. If you would like another worm hole to go down then check out Lucy Thomas music. I first found her several years ago looking at different versions of Hallelujah. Check out her version of that song and her and her younger sister Martha singing The Prayer and You Raise Me Up. Once you get started you'll have hours of enjoyment. All their duets are fantastic and you can see their growth together as they sing.
I am rather certain that she has been in my “suggestion box. “Thank you for the reminder.
