Thanks. I have slowly been planning out the mounting to the trailer. It's going to be a big project, so I am trying to finish other stuff up first. But, it will get done!
Just drove 3,500 miles in an M1078 LMTV overland RV conversion. Luckily the axles were just updated to go 70-74 mph as compared to the original 58mph max. They're pretty cool rigs, personally I plan to get an old Ford F600-F700 4x4 super single conversion for bigger tires and put a box like that one on it eventually. I just got an old military trailer with a smaller S250 Electronics shelter that will work in my F250's for now. Cool set-up there, food luck with your conversion!
I don't intend for this to stay on the LMTV. It ended up on a trailer & it's been sitting. Currently, just have it for sale since I've done nothing with it.
@@CallMeColtLLC I just found one, I checked out the dimensions. Definitely better to build a custom double axle trailer. I’m trying to negotiate a lower price. The guy wants $1200.
Hey buddy I was looking at your video. I like it nice Box. You said you were gonna get rid of some of the shelving I can use some of those? Is there any way we can make arrangements?
Yes, it was a telephone switch room before it was gutted. That is why it had the racks. It routed communications and had a few computers mounted in it.
Thank you. This project has been sidelined for quite a while. I would love to finish it but just have not had time. I actually have it posted for sale in case anyone would like to take it over, it is on my eBay store.
how are those shelters constructed? I'm wondering if there might not be a way to section it and put in some kind of extender, so while you are in it, you can "raise the roof" so you're not hunched over [similar to the vertically expandable towed trailers]
@@CallMeColtLLC ok, I was afraid that would be the answer. I know the S-250 will fit, but they're hard to find at a reasonable price. Thanks for your quick response.
Damn, that's cool! Can't wait to see what you have planned for it.

Soo much awesome in one video!
I try to keep it exciting. Sometime, I take on to many projects. Haha
Looks good Colt , thanks for sharing . I think I would make it self contained.
I'm thinking I will mount it to a trailer and leave it there to keep things simple.
Nico video 👍
Thanks 😁

I would build a trailer base or get the military trailer to put it on. ❤
It is currently on a military trailer. Need to still finish it up. To many projects!

If it was mine I would skin that overhang for slightly better airflow over the top. Slightly less resistance to wind flow over the top.
Another amazing video from Colt.. remember to like, share and if you haven't hit that sub button for informative content. Good job Colt
Legend!

Where are you located?
It looks like it used to be a comms truck, maybe make it into a Mobil ham radio post

Aluminum frame with sheet aluminum and wax coated cardboard core fill. They made shelters like that but they're more fragile than these.
@@CallMeColtLLC lighter than some of the other construction methods for sure. Thanks
@@wilemelliott It's very light!
Do you know if the S-788: will fit in a M1101 trailer? Also, do you know if the S-805/G is the same size as the S-788?
S788 and similar models will only properly fit in a HMMWV unless it is going on a flat or framed surface. Absolutely will not work in an M1101.

@@Airwaves-Radio I have this shelter on the trailer listed for sale.
150lbs of lock washers
Same with wire!
the box appears to be bigger on the inside than on the outside ...
It's due to the dark colored outside vs the light colored inside.
@@CallMeColtLLC :-) I was making a Doctor Who reference :-)
That roof gouge would piss me off
Yes, annoying. But over all this time, it has not leaked!
