I think the aren’t just sowing seeds of Roberts Rebellion but many years later when Lyonel Rebels against the throne and faces Dunc in a trial by combat
I agree with that. If Prince Baelor hadn’t died, he would have ascended to the throne, and there wouldn’t have been any future "Mad King." However, that still wouldn’t have prevented the Great Plague. So, ultimately, House Targaryen would only have extended its lifespan by a few decades. After all, without dragons, a feudal dynasty has its inherent limits.
I've read the books years ago, but I still watched 1st episode twice! Even though I know the whole story, finally seeing it feels so good. I am sure this is going to be as big as Game of Thrones, especially because the story is so easy to follow and enjoy.

The Blackfyre Rebellions are my favourite part of the Targaryen lore. Aegon the Unworthy, Bloodraven, then fast forward to prime Barristan Selmy v Maelys the Monstrous. I love the politics & pitfalls the Royal Family face during this era. The intrigue is way more fascinating imo than doing a show about the Conqueror

I read the books but I'm shakey on the Blackfyre rebellions. I would love a breakdown to whats let to this.
In the books it's spoken about a lot in conversation, and slowly each book expands what happened in the rebellion.
Because they seem to be using flashbacks for the first time im hoping they can use it to slowly tell and show the first blackfyre rebellion.
It would help bulking out the short stories a bit if done correctly.

Each episode is only $10M or half of House of the Dragon. And it still looks good thanks to the beautiful natural scenery in Ireland. Egg with his bo stick is giving me Avatar: The Last Airbender vibes. I can't wait when Baelor Breakspear shows up. One of the good Targaryens in history.

Each of these 3 stories that George wrote are short. So the fact they made a whoke season for the first story is amazing in itself as it would only be 15min episodes otherwise. But if it bothers you that much wait 6 weeks then watch them all instead of moaning 😂😂😂
