that's really true about teaching. btw, i'm also in the teaching field. i did experience crying when parents' bitch out but i never do that in front of them. And even just the loss of the kid's eraser, parents will go on complaining.Hope you get a new job soon in case you're leaving :)
I'm going through the same thing right now, everything you said, literally everything is 100% relatable. Only I had a couple other worse situations in regards to the housing, ended up getting a shared apartment instead of single and it wasn't in a good state. Appreciate the video! Made me feel a lot better lol
Hey man that was a really good video and I can tell by the way you speak and articulate yourself that you're probably a great teacher. Quick question for ya: so with all the marking and planning how many hours would you say you work per day? I'm guessing that they provide 0 prep time amirite?
Thanks! Lol. I start work at 9:50 and work till around 6 pm. I have a lunch break and a couple 10 minute breaks in between some classes. And yep, 0 prep time.
Hey there Paul. Great videos. I have decided to take the plunge and teach english at a korean school. I am doing it through a TESOL course in Australia. I have a korean home stay here at the moment and picking up some korean before I go over there. I am just a bit nervous when I go over there I won't know anyone. How do I get in touch with other foreigners when I am over there?
Teaching English in Korea has all different phases. My friend who just has High school diploma in U,S moved to Korea, she just giving private tutor to in her Apt, making 5000 $ monthly, with 5 students. Everyone is making different amount incomes depends how you advertise yourself. If you can speak some Korean language, its huge plus to get the students. So dont be discouraged by one or few informations, we make our professional success in all different levels.
I wanted to ask you for an advice. I am looking for a teaching job in Korea but I don't wanna use recruitment agencies, I need to contact schools ( private ones and hagwons, not public ). Do you know a way how and where to find as many as possible emails of private schools and hagwons in Korea ? To avoid recruitment agencies...so only direct communication with the school. Thank you :)

I think you are doing a great job. Some people I know are just there to make money.
This video shouldn't push you away. Some places are better than this, some are worse. However, this is what it has been like for me.

Hows your Korean going bro?
Are there any Hagwons that you know of, that have similar hours to public schools?
I'm not sure. Every school is different.
yea the public schools are way better but you don't get paid as much. they changed the scale this year.
Hey I heard Korean girls love americans, is that true?
Korean girls love who they love, not necessarily Americans.
