This video makes me look fondly back at Transformers (2007). It’s definitely not the perfect Transformers film, but it’s so monumental in so many ways. The big thing is revitalizing the entire Transformers franchise. While divisive, Michael Bay’s live action interpretation of the Transformers definitely gripped a lot of people, whether it be new people to the franchise or returning members. The design cohesion of the Cybertronians were so messy, yet they had a weird appeal to them. Regardless, the design elements from Bay’s Transformers would echo throughout many other continuities in the franchise. And let us not forget this fact: this was Peter Cullen’s second Optimus Prime since he last voiced G1 Optimus Prime way back in 1986/87. It’s crazy to think about it: Cullen debuting as the iconic G1 Optimus Prime, and was never called back to reprise his role for a little over 20 years until the live action film.

We gotten epic and emotional movie series and one of the most iconic and rewatchable animated series of all time. This with cybetron games created real golden age for us fans. @@Krypto12 Do not leave out Transformers: Armada. That was the gateway to the franchise for many others, myself included. It let the Decepticons win occasionally, and it gave us the most sympathetic, three-dimensional, and overall best incarnation of Starscream to date.

Inconsistent lore? Wasting so many characters with little screentime or no characterization? Focusing too much on the humans? Too much toilet humor? The reasons why the bayverse is controversial should be obvious. Too obvious to the naked eye. I like both but transformers prime was essentially a more put together bayverse.
I love both soundtracks, but Transformers Prime sounds more distinct to me personally. I think I would have recognized them through thousands of other epic soundtracks. there is a certain, characteristic tonality here. and there is a weight, as if you feel the full massiveness of the situation and want to straighten up, but you can't because there is a weight on you. The soundtrack of the film has more notes of hope, but as for me, they don't have any character. The Prime has a magnificent choir in the background and a WHOLE orchestra.
