      @@genkishan the original recipe has origine from the Byzantine, sugar in Greece came only after 1900, they were using honey to make halva but I suppose it got too expensive. Vanilla and spices were always available in Byzantine.

    So in Greece is made with italian meringue O_o
    I saw other recipes, in which they're using only a sugar syrup, without the egg white

      In this video he is using only sugar syrup that it is beaten using heat to look like a meringue, no eggs are used in the recipe, only sugar and tahini.
