    I'm a master mechanic, sheet metal journeyman, certified welder, and prototype tool maker on the fly. You have the simplest and best by far tool that everyone has the ability to make on their own. Good job buddy.

    This is really compact and yet the most simplest and easiest too to make and use. Also the way the wire is wrapped around the pipe is the easiest to remember and impelemnt. This tools will work very well in small spaces - unlike other tools ideas I've seen on RUclips.

    Remarkable that there are folk repurposing expensive tools, welding and finishing complex versions while this starts and finishes a short distance from mass produced, off the shelf cheap parts. Folk must be howling out there. Off to make one. Great idea.

      You can pick up remnant screen at most metal scrap yards. Pick out the gage thickness that suits you best. It is the most pliable, or malable that you can find.

      Door hinge, carriage bolt and wing nut all available at your local hardware store. Hinge dimension will vary. Bolt must be sized accordingly.

    How important is the slot though? Won't the wires coming under the flat part of the bolt keep the bolt from turning?

    I would agree with many of the comments that say its way easier and smarter to just go buy a dozen hose clamps than to go to the trouble of making one of these....here is the but: BUT, the quality of the average hose clamp available at the big box stores is just effing pathetic. Especially anything smaller than 1/2".

  • @Physics072

    Yea I made one. Only cost me $100.00 for grinder, $10.00 for door pars and $5.00 in wires! $115.00 + 6 percent tax + gas around 125.00. Thanks so much for saving me the money and time.

    • @dawdawsd1
      @dawdawsd1 Год назад +3

      You don't quite get that this is a very useful tool and obviously you will want one if you do a lot of hose clamping. Besides, this technique is way better than any hose clamp you buy from the stores: maintenance free, secure and very compact which is important for many applications.
      Dedicated tools for wire clamping are sold for 30 usd, professional ones for 100, BTW
