Top video Simon. Wanted to do this route for a couple of years now and find it interesting/disappointing that the limits are as low as they are now. I'm no demon on a bike but find myself slightly put off now.
Simon, great video and you done really well to narrate all the way through. I’ve been down the B500 a few times and yes it’s probably my favourite of all but it’s heartbreaking to watch now. I hope the authorities will see sense in the end when all the café’s are going bust along the route.
Oh my goodness, I’m off to Luxembourg (Vianden) at the weekend - and riding your Route 36 on one of the days…the other I was going to suggest to my riding buddies was that we head to the B500…but I’m not sure I will now after watching this! 🤦🏻♂️. Hope you’re well Simon.
Thanks for that, I always like to watch youtube videos to see whether the roads are worth riding. I 100% agree that everyone should take advanced training too and actually be tested at least every 5 years regardless what they drive. Can you do more on specific roads? Maybe in HD too :)
A beautiful road but sadly a victim of the risk adverse legislators. As vehicles and tyre technology has improved speed restrictions should have moved up not down. So many roads in England the same thing is happening 60s to 50s. Called by the Ponderosa and the Horse Shoe Pass still looking great but ridiculously slow limit. 🐌
l planned on going here in September, l am seriously thinking about cancelling, absolutely gutted. l am not a fast rider by any means but man alive this looks boring as hell now.
Absolute madness - it will make no difference to the accident stats whatsoever. The people who ride recklessly will not change their habits and all this is doing is spoiling it for those sensible bikers who ride at an "appropriate speed". Thankfully plenty of other fabulous roads in the Black Forest and other areas to still enjoy. Personally I prefer the Vosges - much quieter and equally good riding

Head to Spa and ride that route instead - or to the Eifel to do the Nürburgring route (or even the Ring itself)

Completely bonkers. I now avoid the B500 and stay on the surrounding roads, which are typically quieter and equally as fun to ride.
