I like how the Ariral held the supercharged guň for a moment like, "Wait, you microwaved it, didn't you? It's still hot, so to your nuts it GOES"
My guess on what happened was it was either an Ariral ship passing by or some sort of Orbital Cannon that went off.
If my memory serves me right, on the radar a huge blip appears after the explosion for a second and then disappears. Which might indicate something went so fast it unleashed a sonic boom of some sort and killed the power.
My theory on the Orbital Cannon however... Im unsure of. Because I hear a bassy hum on the Ariral Satellite signal, which could be from the cannon itself. Its as if its charging up and then firing its laser onto earth. Maybe the Ariral was running some form of a test and pre maturely fired it? It does certainly look like an Orbital Cannon.
Im more confident in my theory of an Ariral ship passing by to be honest. What this satellite has to do with the ship and why it cuts out so abruptly and violently is anyone's guess really.
EDIT:
I checked the wiki. Its actually neither of the theories but has to do with Ariral technology.
Its actually an Ariral that was attempting teleportation but was unfortunately eviscerated upon coming down to earth, leaving only his legs remaining. The structure found in the video with the gravity gun is actually that same Ariral that was attempting teleportation.

1: if that structure was an ariral teleporter and those were an arirals legs, that means that they are shorter than ecpected or their proportions are odder than imagined;
2: that also means that the message was something along the lines of:"attempting teleportation, chamber charging, teleportation in 3, 2, 1 *dies for malfunction* " it is likely that the arirals were ecoerimenting with that tech away from their honeworld, why that is is still a mistery

in the Ariral lore (according to the dev on the disc server) there are apparently Short arirals and Tall arirals
They were probably doing it away from there home world so they didn't blow it up or anything.
@@NoireReality.Yeah i managed to get my hands on the document only recently, there are short arirals (average height 1,80 m) and the tall ones (to which the ones roaming around belong to, average height 2+ m)
if you listen to the signal at lvl 3; you can definitely hear where the teleport malfunction supposedly happened; thus the signal cutting out violently via the crash
edit: apparently also the severed ariral legs are actually off of a presumed short ariral worker; due to the signals name being “ShortAriralTp”

it's in the upper left corner of the map (as seen on the radar), near that hole in the fence. It's activated through finding the signal though.
