HOW TO MAKE "DISCREET" WALKING VIDEOS | Using DJI Pocket 2

- Do you like to make walking videos? I'm sure you have experienced doing it with your smartphone. While smartphone cameras are getting better and better, it is not the best choice for walking videos simply because of two reasons... They are attention grabbers and most of them are not stabilized and produce shaky footage.
In this video, I will be teaching you how to make walking videos discreetly. I will be recommending the DJI pocket 2 because of its size and it's built it gimbal. I will give you a quick demo on how to use it in your walking videos.
Believe me, this gadget is the perfect tool for the job. Watch til the end as I give you some sample footage.

A gimbal on a phone is also good for walking video but will not be discreet.
I have found if I also carry my small black backpack in the same hand is hides the camera better and with a water bottle in the backpack it makes my hand more steady ...

Gopro and DJI pocket has some pros and cons against each other. But i personally like the DJI po pocket due to its movable head

I like the idea but it’s really a top quality video, imo. Holding it the regular way is much better and just don’t care about what people think.

The backpack clip looks more comfortable to use. I ordered one in amazon and I'm planning to try it next walking video 😁
@Art & Les I got pocket 2 with the creator so I could control it with my phone. Also a gopro clip and holder that mounts to the gopro clip. Makes it easier to take on and off. I used black electrical tape to cover the screen because people really noticed that , just don't cover the mics. And i got a longer charging cable and wrapped around strap and into backpack and plugged into small power bank so I never ran out of battery and a 256gb card.

With blur, you can record videos with people's faces but you must put a note where you can request to be removed from it, but the rest of the video can remain the same! This is the camera that I will buy!
Here in the UAE, it can be problem if someone complained about their faces because of the law. That's why i blur them in editing. 😁
how do you blur? blur function in the osmo pocket? or when you edit the videos?

Hmmm.. I can't imagine your suggestion. I think the gimbal and camera will touch your body while you walk if you do that and will cause it to malfunction. You can buy a clip for DJI pocket instead and attach it to your backpack straps.

Madami pong pwede gawin ang dji pocket. Lalo na sa vlogging kung meron kang crearor combo meron kang wireless mic. Maganda rin siya sa mga timelapse. 👍😊
i hold it alittle to my mid section. so the trousers dont show in the video, so its at a good viewing level not too low to the ground.

It depends on the height of a person. I am a small guy that's why it is little low. Hehe. If you don't like the angle, you can buy a clip on a for the shoulder bag. But it will not be so "discreet" after that.
I have a GoPro 10 and don't want to spend money on a pocket 2. Any idea how I can hide my GoPro in my shirt or jacket?
A gopro can be really obvious. Maybe you can buy a clip attachment for your shirt or backpack. 😊

I don't know.. But that would be cool or some kind of clip on the belt area can be discreet but I haven't used any.

We don't own a feiyu pocket 3.. Just the DJI pocket 2. I don't know if they have similar horizontal recording

get it. its a good camera, best for walking videos. also theres pocket 1, which is cheaper. the only real difference is pocket 2 has zoom. and that zoom is very good.

It's hard to hold in armpit and may fall. It is not as smooth because my hands sway a little 😂. Hold it steady and it will be smoother. 👍

I usually use FPV mode. But it's best if you connect your smartphone to your DJI and use it as a live view monitor. You may not notice your hands tilting down and getting a bad angle. 😅

Awesome video! I need to collect video evidence of my neighbor using their large german shepherd to harass me in my yard. Do you recommend I get a DJI Pocket 2? I am a first time user of action cameras. This looks like it's pretty easy.....
Yes DJI pocket 2 is a good all around camera. But if you want to take videos on harsh environment and with water, i suggest you go for something like GoPro. Dji pocket 2 will not do good in water and dropping it may damage the gimbal. But for overall video it is great. It can shoot 4k quality videos, great timelapse videos and great accessories. 😊👍
@@ArtandLes Thank you. I ordered the DJI Pocket 2 last night before you replied and received it today. After opening it up, I had to download their DJI store App and their Mimo app in order to use the camera and watch the tutorials. I found the terms of service very restrictive and invasive. So I returned it. It seemed very complex for my beginner experience level with cameras. I need simple solutions and do not want to provide so much personal info. Thanks for your feedback. Now to try a GoPro.

How about carrying a bag in that same hand, it will stop you from swaying that arm too much, and makes it even more discreet.

There is no pocket 3 yet in the market but it will probably be the same on handling. Let's wait for it 😊

The controllable range angle of the first version is the same. But I don't know if the shortcut button works the same
I have a DJI Pocket 2 also with firmware 1.03.00.10, but your trick won't work with my pocket 2, the camera is pointing down.

Usually naka 1080p lang ako.. Then i let my cellphone with DJI app to connect para mamonitor ko kung naka frame ng maayos. Usually naka fpv mode ako.
Doesn't the DJI Pocket2 get very hot and stop filming within 30 minutes in warm countries?
I haven't used it in direct sunlight when I was in Dubai. Temperature there can go as high as 50C. I tried with my cellphone and camera stopped because of overheating. Probably it can make any electronic stop for overheating even the DJI. But in temperatures around 30+C, i didn't encounter any problem.
You meant in around 30 centigrade, pocket was functioning well. What's the longest you have filmed on the pocket 2?@@ArtandLes
@rfsalad4118 in a video, our longest is around 1 hour+. In timelapse i think 2 hours.
Great idea but the footage looks really low
Because i am short. I am only 5'4.hehe. Just adjust the the camera angle if you want or purchase a clip to attach it on your shoulder bag if you want it to be higher but it will not be so discreet anymore. The purpose of this video is to make a discreet recording. 😊

Pinakita ko po at nag demo po ako sa paghawak. Ganun din po yung way na hinawakan ko ang DJI during the mall tour. Wala naman po akong kasama sa mall kaya walang magvivideo sakin hehe

May settings po ba boss na nagrerecord ng video pero nka off ung screen like GoPro na may screen savers pra sa longride
Hindi ko po na explore yung ganung option kung meron. On my experience, hindi namamatay ang screen while recording. Nag aauto off lang siya if idle.

Depende po kapag lagi niyo ginagalaw ang gimbal. If steady lang, pwede siya tumagal ng 2 hrs in 1080p 30fps settings.

Ayaw po mag forward flip? Kung nasundan nio po instructions ko at hindi nag rotate ng katulad ng nasa video, baka po ibang version ng dji pocket ang nasa inyo. Hindi po ako sure if meron pa pong reasons.

Ano pong 7 minitues recording? Nag lilimit sa 7 minutes lang? Sa akin hindi naman, hanggat may capacity pa ang SD card pwede mag record tuloy tuloy

Holding the camera like that you are basically covering all the 4 mics of the camera.
Based on our experience, we can still hear the ambiance sounds. Otherwise if you want to record yourself speaking, use the wireless mic which is included if you purchase the combo pack and clip it near your shirt. 😊
Sensitive people might think you're recording girl's skirts as camera position is quite low
That's a nice point. We should never get super near a girl wearing mini skirts. 😊👍 Keep distance.
The good thing is, majority of people don't know it's a camera and you are currently recording. If you are a tall man or woman, the level of camera will be quite above a mini skirt 😊
I love this camera. But putting blur on people's faces on a walking tour makes no sense.
Hi there. We are in the UAE and it is against the law to post faces of strangers in social media and the internet without their permission. We can get fined or even jailed 😁
this is 700 dollars...................surely there must be a way for my phone.
Actually the creator combo is now around $490 USD. And you can buy the standard unit for less than 400 USD.
I think we will make a video on how to make discreet videos using smartphones for people who prefer to use a smartphone rather than a dji pocket 😁
