Greetings from Turkey. My grandparents immigrated from Macedonia at the last quarter of 1950's. They were living at Gorno Vranovci. He loves this music and i love this music too.
Gorno Vranovci is very important for the Macedonian uprising. The oldest newspaper "Nova Makedonija" was first published in Gorno Vranovci, in the free zone. Sadly, after the liberation, the people from this village and many other migrated to Turkey, or were forced to go, although were Muslims that spoke our language. Greetings from Ohrid.
To me, Macedonian music is the best of Balkan music. Reaches the heart in so many ways! Hold your Macedonian heritage alongside your adopted Turkish. I love many Turkish songs including the music of Barış Manço.
İzmir Karşıyaka dan sevgiler. Rahmetli Babamın pek sevdiği bir şarkıdır. Rahmetli Babam Dolno Jabolçiste den Arnavuttur. Rahmetli Annem ise Gorno Vranofciden dir. Kiril alfabesini bilmesem de, konuşmasını biliyorum. Bu yıl Ocak ayında ebeveynlerimin köylerini ziyaret ettim.
Very emotional, touching lyrics! Heard the song three, or four times, and each time I could not stop my tears rolling down my face. These people went though winds and storms, had to change their faith, their names , their traditions, but they preserved their songs and the purity of their language. Amazing! And, no better voice would have been more suitable for these lyrics than the voice of Vebija. Simply, heartbreaking! I posted the lyrics below as a reply to dusty XD.
Thank you so much for the lyrics. I couldn't find them anywhere else. Another song which brings tears to my eyes, every single time, is 'Zosto Si Me Majko Rodila.'
