I bought a FF 48 CGC 6.5 about a month ago and a FF 50 CGC 5.5 not long after that. I’ve always wanted these books even though I’m more of a DC guy. The 50 I believe was originally from your business because it has a CC sticker on the back of the label. I bought it also because it has a Stan Lee auto on Silver Surfer’s board. For some reason, this slab has a blue label and not a yellow or green one.
I think the reason 50 is up more is because 48 and 49 moved first and they started retreating some already. 50 moved later and hadn’t reached that pullback point yet. 49 had been up like 230% at one point.
Thanks for your assessment, as always! My goal for the rest of the year is FF 49. Since my budget is way low, I'm going to quit buying, save up, finally sell a few books, and get me one! Low grade is fine, if it presents well.
these books 48/49/50 are the ones you should be grabbing because they will be spiking the moment we see a sneak pic or any news on actors to play there role.. It wouldn’t matter to me if they don’t increase because I buy it for the love of the character and not because of speculation
I do really like silver surfer, been wanting to write a song called "silver surfer" for awhile, but yes I think these books will pop off when annoucemnets come
I have a raw copy of each one of these that is in pretty decent condition probably better than mid grade my problem is i,m not sure what is the way to either sell them or just hang on to them.
I got my FF50 in 2017, FF48 last October and FF49 last November so I barely avoided the massive spikes. If and when they do incorporate the FF and X-men into the MCU how will they explain their absence after all this time during the Avengers' battles with Loki, the Chitauri, Ultron and Thanos?
They may leave it unanswered question as they may with externals, chi, ms marvel, marvel isn’t perfect expoing answers in movies tv shows Bucky white wolf name still confusing to me
These books will blast off like nothing ever has when there is an announcement. I want them and I would pay the price now. They likely won’t dip much more or at all. I bought fantastic four 48 for 100. before first movie was released found at indoor flea market display cases version I didn’t know it have 1/25 written on cover when I saw it pgx gave me grade 6.5 for issues 48 and 49 I don’t care to have issue 50 brown cover is ugly I bought those books for galactus not silver surfer I am still surprised these books have not gone up in value more these underrated books galactus and silver surfer are popular characters in marvel prices are not as high as they should be they go up and down
It's one of those ones you just know will go up at some point. It's why I bought loads asm 361. Carnage HAD to be done at some point. Silver surfer and galactus are the same.
I definitely like FF49 the best of this trio. I don’t like the covers on the other two at all. And I think the “firsts” of FF49 (including first cover appearance of both Galactus and Silver Surfer) are cool in their own right. I don’t see why FF48 costs twice FF49.

Kirby made up for these covers with FF #'s 72 and 74, although I do like the #48 cover.

FF 49 8.0 went for 4355$ tonight on comiclink so pretty stable. 9.0 sold for 7326$ and 9.2, 8800$ not bad

I bought my 48 for $180 like 20 years ago and it did nothing for years. In fact I feel like I was down on it most of that time. Then rocket ship.
