As an old bloke I loved this collection, for its simplicity, elegance and 50s look, not haute couture ala schiaparelli but some very stylish outfits, maybe to coincide with the new look series.
You don't see the details that went into the dresses - the simpler the design is, the more difficult to pull through and that is the beauty of couture - to make it look effortless. It is one of the best collections in a long while.
All couture has crazy design details, it doesnt mean anything...this Maria person does the exact same fashion every year...the dress with the shoulder straps and the ballerina tulle...so uninspired...her box of imagination is very small and shallow...never anything new or exciting. Bring back the gay men, they truly know fashion
@dpfflti that’s kind of the point, that job is not to create outlandish pieces like Schiaparelli or Jean Paul Gautier. She’s focusing on creating simple ready to wear/made to order pieces. Despite the fact that even if it’s boring, it gives more power to the customer to decide how they want it made.
Mi dispiace cara, al negozio di luci per alberi di Natale ci hanno detto che le avevi prese tutte tu per i tuoi abiti, quindi ci siamo arrangiati cucendo del tessuto per abiti.
What does it say about women today? Where is the “I am alive and empowered feeling?” Drab colors, mechanical walk, were we asleep at the wheel while being driven into a world of hands maiden tale?
Goodness gracious, I am so sick of uniforms for urban camouflage, these pavement colored clothes, office space motifs. If the cuts and fits weren’t so perfect, I would think this was an accident. The walls have more dopamine than the clothes. Please take these cuts and fits and find fabrics that speak or even shout, these quiet background colors are boring.
i love how timeless this collection feels but, i particulary would have loved seen something that felt more fresh, cause tbh it feels like ive already seen this
Favorite 2024 offerings so far. Pieces are sumptuous, abundant and alive. Not fond of the alternating shots with the wall art. But very happy with these rich, well proportioned, patterned pieces. Thank you.
I find some of these comments rather surprising….Yes, it is Haute Couture. No it’s not meant to be over the top and super flashy creative. Dior is conservative fashion house for conservative fashion lovers. At this price point, you want pieces that are timeless and can be easily incorporated into existing wardrobes and enjoy more often rather wearing them once and then stuffing it to the back of the closets 💁♂️
@TheHaberdasheryProject I agree with you on this, but it depends on how you style the garments. Most of the pieces on the runway can be easily styled in different ways. A good stylist can easily turn a boring look into a showstopper by finding the right accessories.
@@cresler1 I understand why people don’t like MGC AT DIOR however, you need to understand the reason she was hired, was never really for her design philosophy, but it was for her to keep the business going and expand
Didn't really need a close up on wall art. I'm here for the fashion's. That being said. Does it have to be Haute Couture? I want to wear all of them. Style x 1000.
While the element of quality, even luxury is clearly apparent here, stylistically this collection looks like ready to wear. Colorations and fabrics are so drab and serious, minimal styling wasn’t a virtue and those shoes were very distracting and unattractive. She may know her market and the only “vote” that matters is in the money bin but when there are so many luxury brands producing really impressive quality and design, I find it hard to believe buyers are going to spend the tens of thousands these garments cost. Didn’t hate it. Didn’t love it. I guess that’s a hard meh.
They did Galliano wrong and karma hit them. Plus, those fashion "sketches" are unacceptable. I don't even get into the fact that they packed people to a non sloping seating just for creating a correlation with "parallels" concept. Bland.
How is this Couture? Maybe the embroidery is couture worthy but the collection needed that narration to make the “clothes” feel like couture - what a scam
Thought many pieces were designed lovely and I get the downplay was to focus more on the garments themselves, not big hoopla, hats & heels, but overall this show felt more like a funeral, even the models expressions looked sad. I think I would have dimmed the lights and played some upbeat Asian style music, draped the walls in a red chiffon, backdrop to oppose the subdued clothes colors, perhaps this would have helped, maybe?🪆🪭🥀
@@gunessatiyuksel she’s not ruining Dior, she’s keeping it. A float. People need to understand her job is not to create designs like Daniel Roseberry. Her job is to make the brand financially stable.

Сначала обрадовалась-вот она "высокая мода" для народа! В массы! Покупай, носи,...а потом заскучала-"так это же каждая тетка будет в этом ходить? А хочется , что бы я одна. Самая красивая.
It's a gorgeous line actually, very classic french style. Very quiet luxury. It was very wearable unlike most Dior Haute Couture, it's their version of retro 90s minimalism crossed with a bit of 40s, 50s, early 60s and a bit 70s. It's actually quite classic, elegant and beautiful. Usually Dior is down right Garrish. It's kind of refreshing to see clothes that don't make a person look 🤪 out of their mind.😂 They must be looking for new customers, with more mass appeal. I've heard that sales have been down. It's a business afterall.
Mass appeal? This is haute couture not ready to wear. These garments cost tens of thousands of dollars. The point of haute couture is that it is very exclusive. They should NOT look like something you could purchase at Zara.
@@ashkff Ha ha ha!!! It definitely doesn't look like Zara. If you look at fashion history, Haute Couture was beautiful, elegant and were works of art and taste. Most fashion houses today have Haute Couture that look like someone came out of a mental institution and don't reflect real beauty and art. It's nice to see a return to real beauty and art!!!
The paintings on the wall look like they are from the Stone Age 😁- by the way, why did Maria Grazia walk like a penguin ? 😅 I guess she's not used to high heels 🤔
Элегантно, изыскано, современно... Локаничность наряда лает возможность подобрать драгоценности по вкусу и сообразно случаю... Обувь ужасная, как будто из прошлых коллекций осталась...
@user-lo4kn2wh6r I agree with you on the shoes, but it’s just a small detail. The customer can customise the garments to be packed with any accessory of their choice. The shoe was just an afterthought.
Its finally nice to see a return to classic, timeless pieces which are wearable instead of unrealistic, trendy pieces.
Bring back the gay men, they really know how to dress a woman.
Haute couture at its best - easy elegance and effortless chic. It's a superb collection.
love it, wearable, timeless, effortlessly, for me one of the best shows👏🏻❤👏🏻❤
Stunning. To me the best collection, elegant and actually weareable.

The world is calling for simplicity. Dior is answering the call. I love it.
I was also reminded of the New Look and loved that for us!

Semi-Couture so quiet chic...!!
Good Job Maria. 👍
It looks like a ready-to-wear collection not a Haute Couture but... yeah it's good enough to wear!

It was a so-so collection. The overly colorful/designed walls of the gallery destracted from the clothes.

The clothing has such subtle detail that all of it gets completely lost by that backdrop…
