Apparently these Snader Telescriptions, this one plus "Lover Man" and "I meant to tell you", are the only versions April made of these songs? No records were released? Her voice and presence is amazing, and some of this was lost in later years when she sang with her brother, when is some songs her voice is hardly audible. Anyway, thanks for posting these, Jim. You have provided a great service in preserving her work.

"The Tricks Of The Trade," credited to April Stevens with Henri Rene And His Orchestra, was released in 1952 on the B side of the single "Put Me In Your Pocket." That same year, "Meant To Tell You" was released on the B side of April's very next single "I Love The Way You're Breaking My Heart." She was again backed by Henri Rene And His Orchestra." I agree that brother Nino tended to dominate when they formed a duo act.

@@thomasanderson3746 I love them both regardless. Keep in mind that her brother was an excellent musician & producer , singer and would be actor ! He was certainly a dominant individual

April Stevens' career went back a long way, didn't it? I was surprised to learn that she was born in 1929, as opposed to 1936, and I guess that accounts for it. The above clip being from 1952 made her 23. A long and fruitful life, to be sure.

That's Bob Grabeau at the beginning!! He was a singer with the Jan Garber Orchestra, later recorded songs on every label in creation.
