I had to watch this video twice before noticing the westminster chime. It has this illusion of the five bells being an occasional part of the music being played on the bell machine. Interesting.
@@Bennythegamer1x7x9 wrong. It was fist used on the clock at Great St. Mary's, Cambridge, these were originally called the Cambridge Chimes and are derived from Handel's 'Messiah. It's because the mechanism isn't strong enough to raise the same one fast enough to keep up the chime, so two ring it to make it faster and have an uninterrupted melody
Because the 4th quarter jack strikes twice in quick succession, and the main hammer isn’t fast enough to do that, so they added a second hammer to keep the chime on tempo.
Also, what are the keys/pitch that the bells play? I know it's Westminster, but what is it? (Example: D major or C minor, I know that that might not be the pitch.) I don't know for sure.
Is it "The Star Spangled Banner" or "To Anacreon in Heaven" (the British song from which Francis Scott Key 'borrowed' the music for his USA national anthem)?
Nikos Podas (and every one) The 4th bell strikes twice quickly/in quick succession. Because of that, The hammer is unable to pull itself back and strike it again within the time of one second. So they put a second hammer to keep the chime perfectly (Big Ben has the same). So it’s (Westminster chime on the key of F on piano) F A G C1, F G A F, A F G C1,C2 G A F and not delayed

What do you mean by what kind of bells The clock bells were cast by Whitechapel bell foundry of London in 1960. They are made of a bronze alloy as most church bells are. The hour bell or the biggest bell wieghs over 12cwt . Previous to the Bell tower being built i do not know where the bells have previously been used.
Laughed so hard when I read the description. Too good.
The Star Spangled Banner bells sounded like Thornton's Arcade Clock (in Leeds) and the Westminster chimes sounded like Garstang Town Hall Clock.

How come the 4th quarter jack has 2 hammers?
Maybe it's the fast chimes that don't give the 1st hammer enough time to strike twice.
Because the 4th quarter jack strikes twice in quick succession, and the main hammer isn’t fast enough to do that, so they added a second hammer to keep the chime on tempo.
@@davidnissim589 The same happens in London, England at Westminster Palace, the clock erroneously called “Big Ben”

it's crazy but the mechanism can't pull 1 hammer twice in a certain amount of time so they just put 2 hammers

It's G Major(Sol3-Re4-Sol4-La4-Si4 or g'-d''-g''-a''-h'')
C minor is the tune of the 4th quarter Jack.
The Westminster chimes are in G Major, the hour strike is G Minor

@Jimart Celvani Lecito actually it does, the low quarter bell’s hammer is pretty heavy, so there’s 2 on each side, you can loot it up on Wikipedia.
