He's honestly got everything. I don't think people realise he's got some legit credentials too: represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in wrestling, national Greco-Roman champ, black belt in a martial art if I remember correctly too. Throw in he's a genuine musician with insane creativity, along with everything else you've said: you couldn't create a wrestler with more positives on paper!
WWE probably would've wanted full ownership on whatever songs Hendry made if he did sign with them, which would be a very complicated matter in terms of authorship royalties/credits.
Absolutely. Especially since his songs are actually parodies of other songs, with customised lyrics. Pretty much what Weird Al is doing. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of legal nightmare you can get into as a corporation just trying to score the rights to some of these songs to be used as part of a wrestling promo.
@@ChannelyChannel That's generally true, but copyright laws are iffy and they usually favour rights holders. Fair use is a very murky and loosely defined legal term and it often gets completely discarded in such cases. Big corporations (like WWE) would probably want all the bases covered, leaving nothing to chance.
Funny thing is I only recently saw Hendry on NXT and TNA. Didn't even know he was a singer but told my brother he reminded me of Elias because of how his gimmick stood out. Guy should be a huge star and has unlimited potential.
@@UTubeRepossessions So now we have confirmation of where all of WCPW's money went. It was a pretty open secret, but hearing the real numbers is depressing, considering the amount of raw, local talent that promotion had. It was never the same after they sold and rebranded as Defiant.
Fun fact: Kurt Angle's match with Joe Hendry is a second shorter than his match with Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam 2002 Personally, Kurt Angle had every right to make as much money and not wrestle too long. A) He can have great matches no matter the length B) When you've done everything in the business and want to be strategic about your time in the ring towards the end of your career, why can't you?
I like both, Elias did it on the big stage and was very over, I don’t know if Joe hendry will ever get that chance, if they would let him use the parody music gimmick in wwe, but it truly is a great gimmick
Joe Hendry makes things better. He can wrestle, he can sing
The answer to all of life's problems
He can do anything!

Hendry is one helluva Digital Media Champion.
I believe in Joe Hendry. Great talent ... young, can cut a promo, can wrestle and has size and a good physique. This guy should be in WWE.
I would not exactly say 36 young lol

It’s more likely that wwe wouldn’t want to touch this gimmick because of the risk of copyright violations.
I mean, in IMPACT, he's basically been making the songs from scratch. It's not quite the same, but there are definitely ways to do it.
Joe Hendry would do brilliantly in WWE, his creativity and entertainment value would make him go far
🎵JOE HENNNDRRYYYY, LOCALLLL HERO 🎵
If any one can make it big in the U.S it’s joe. We believe
He has world champ written on him. It’s funny but not goofy or corny
I appreciate Kurt’s honesty and transparency about why it went ten minutes and the strong effort he put in.
I went to Clarion University because Kurt Angle went there...and I lived 9 hours away, I was just a fan lol
There are only two types of people in this world.
1. Those who do believe in Joe Hendry
2 Those who WILL believe in Joe Hendry

Kurt "i aint getting paid by the hour" Angle
Literally was getting paid by the hour. $25,000 for 10 minutes. Just no one is dropping $150,000 for an hour long match.
Funny thing is I only recently saw Hendry on NXT and TNA. Didn't even know he was a singer but told my brother he reminded me of Elias because of how his gimmick stood out. Guy should be a huge star and has unlimited potential.
He appeared…. In NXT
I believe in Joe Hendry. He’d cook in NXT at least.
This comment aged well. We all believe now.
$25,000 for 10 minutes at an indy show? That's insane
I wonder why they folded...
But how do they even profit from these indie shows
