Quick summary :
Before Your Dive
- Spare Parts on Boart
- Let people know your travel plans
- Emergency contact (EPIRB / Satellite phones / GPS)
For yourself
- Solar Protection (Sunbutter sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, rashguard)
- Dive buddy
- Dive plan (How long you're diving, emergency recall, dive maps)
In Water
- Dive Buddy!
- Dive lookout on the boat
- Do not touch marine life (know marine life first aid)
- Stay within your comfort levels (do not try going to break records without the appropriate training and support team)
- Have a dive knife (to cut yourself out of trouble)
I forgot to mention first aid!!! Have your emergency first aid kid and know your emergency solutions.

Pinto (the black one) tries to catch fish on the beach, but when they're swimming they just bark and follow me!

Definitely! Always key to make sure you're safe before helping others, calling local emergency services, and then do first aid if needed!
