KV 271 In a September 1778 letter Mozart wrote to his father, he referred to three recent concertos, "one for the jenomy [K. 271], litzau [K. 246], and one in B-flat [K. 238]" that he was selling to a publisher. Leopold later called the first pianist "Madame genomai." (Spellings were often variable and phonetic at the time.) The Viennese musicologist Michael Lorenz has identified her as Victoire Jenamy, born in Strasbourg in 1749 and married to a rich merchant, Joseph Jenamy, in 1768. Victoire was the daughter of the celebrated dancer and choreographer Jean Georges Noverre (1727-1810), who was a good friend of Mozart’s. He had choreographed a 1772 Milan production of Mozart’s opera Lucio Silla and later commissioned the ballet Les Petits Riens for Paris. Although we still know little about Victoire Jenamy-she does not appear to have been a professional musician, though clearly Mozart admired her playing-Mozart’s first great piano concerto can now rightly be called by its proper name: "Jenamy."
I've literally been looking for great performances of these concertos for YEARS, but have never come across them till now. No matter which pianists I listened to, even Alfred Brendel (one of my top favorite pianists), I found the performances and recordings always somewhat lackluster and forgettable, like the pianists were just going through the motions, getting another boring (to them) job finished. Which was frustrating, because I knew the material was often great, and that Mozart was a genius on the keyboard... But for some reason the soloists almost always seemed to not put any passion or interest in their playing. (And the supporting orchestras usually seemed as lukewarm as the soloist.) But NOW I hear Derek Han playing with fervor and passion, and the orchestra wonderfully and energetically supporting, and I feel like my long quest is now ended. Thank you Derek Han, Paul Freeman, and the Philharmonia Orchestra. And I'm VERY grateful that this RUclips video was supplied, thus introducing these performances to me; I just HAD to buy myself a copy of their Complete Piano Concertos. This being one of those collections too good to lose, in case it's pulled off of RUclips at any time.

I beg you pardon me for what i'm going to write but, i think it would seem he delivered some (I say some, not all) of his piano concertos as if manufactured from a line factory, although is known that producing great amounts of music was his sustainability of life ... . In spite of my critic we must recognize that the WAM's musical factory work was very efficiently and genially done, unmatched, and in a very short period of time.
In a factory you have to do boring work, but when you have to produce art every day, you can make it as interesting as you want. So the quantity is not detrimental to the quality, to the contrary, to keep yourself entertained you will look for new ideas all the time and you get better at the creative proces itself

@ lablous....compared to the noise-factories of today producing what they call "music", I will enjoy WAM's "line-work" at any time ;-)

Piękna!
truly mesmarizing
No, as the name of Mozart's friend was Franz Anton Mesmer, it's *mesmerising,* not mesmarizing.
@Rose FabFour Lyao? Why?
Serious about what? The etymology of the English term "mesmerising"? Yes!
