Still don't understand why random variable is called random variable, when it's just a variable. If it can be just used wherever we want it should be called a variable as we do in programming, why random variable? Confuses me a lot. Any help is appreciated.
Data type is concept of programming, while random varible is concept of Stat. Data type mean what type of data you want to store in box, or memory cell.

Definition is incorrect . Random variable is not a place holder . Please refer to some good books rather than these sort of short videos for theory . His IT knowledge is very good but I get it he does not has a degree in Statistics or Mathematics so his knowledge is incomplete and incorrect for this domain .
