My favorite way to mine and avoid mobs is to get yourself a nice aqua affinity and respiration helmet. Bring magma blocks with you so you can breathe under water, and look for massive underwater caves. Ores Spawn more commonly when not exposed to air, and since the entire cave is submerged, you find a ton of ore. Add depth strider to the mix, and you can explore huge vast caverns underwater without needing to build anywhere, as you can just swim to every available block

That's probably because yo go into dripstone caves, which basically only spawn copper ore
The veins are just as common, the size of the veins vary wildly

That's the thing, you don't have to strip mine for copper- it's everywhere, it finds you. Seriously I played minecraft not long ago and ended up getting diamonds before I ever found a single coal
Yeah I keep finding copper ore by accident but the ore is basically useless if you can find trial chambers (granted you need to make them not waxed if you need it in a different state)
as a bad player i only mine in surface caves for 30 seconds then run away because of zombie noises

I make a creative world of the same seed and find a cave and mark it's coordinates , and then open my survival world and start digging towards the caves😅

How Dare He Say Such A Thing
Strip mining is good when I just wanna turn my brain off but I also want to be productive while ignoring my homework
for those who want copper, I would say anywhere from 45 to 85 is best since they usually spawn mostly at the start of caves, they also spawn the most from -30 to 5 for deepslate copper.
It's better to strip mine for diamonds and here's why:
1: if diamonds generate without being exposed to air (like in a cave) less diamonds generate in that vein compared to when it's fully covered like if you find them by strip mining
2: caves are usually small so you can only mine for diamonds a short while until you need to find a different cave. Strip mining works forever so you can strip mine as long as you want and get as many diamonds as you want.
3: if you want diamonds for the first time you usually don't have armour or iron armour so you can die pretty fast in caves even if you are a pro
