I was a luthier in my head long before I turned pro in my early 50’s. My only regret is I spent “my best years” doing other things in an otherwise non-fulfilling career, and didn’t launch my passion for guitar making at a younger age when time was on my side. They say, “Youth is wasted on the young” (can you say “joint pain?”) and that may be true, but it doesn’t have to be. I don’t know this young man’s age (he looks younger than my youngest of two grown sons), but to see the enthusiasm, energy and “can-do” attitude that this kid’s got shines a light of hope on the future... Pleased to meet you, Sammy Brew! You have vision and an indomitable spirit. Keep playing, keep building, and keep raising the bar day by day! Btw, love the hat and the message! ✌🏼 💙 🌎
Who are you to judge his talent level. I think his song writing and riff writing is solid and his band is tight. His lead work is a little choppy but I think it’s fits the group. As artists go I think he’s already fantastic and will just keep getting better

Many truly gifted musicians are ignored while this sub-punk garbage is sold to the kidsa and gets promoted it seems. Music moved on years ago and yet we have a whelp who thinks Greenday are still a musical blueprint, except Greenday were a much better band.

But as an old musician I can certainly see the value in all concerned. What will he grow into? Not bad now! Guts and determination will get you a long way. Not to mention talent.

Go a little further and make a neck and with the tools you get learn how to make repairs and become a luthier if you want.
