I think the Porsche moving parts has much better door lines that the Mercedes. On the Porsche, it's not really even noticeable that the doors open; It blends seamlessly. On the Mercedes, the doors stand out way too much. I love the detail on the LB Super Silhouette Nissan S-15 Silvia. My overall favorites are the Chevy 454 SS and of course the back LB-ER34 Super Silhouette Nissan Skyline. Thanks for sharing.
Porsche 911 and the Zonda R are the winners for me (in Hotwheels category). I’m just happy that Hotwheels made an early 2010’s hyper car. I also don’t like the idea of hating Tooned cars, I mean every awards the most disappointing cars were selected in the Tooned category, there are like other cars out there to be a disappointing casting for, like the Sian with dog water proportions. Congrats to the winners also 🎉
A lot of great models this year. But my pick is is the Mini GT L-B Works and my runner up is the Ferrari GTO from Tomica. Thanks for doing these awards shows and sharing all these diecast.
What Hot Wheels did with the Mercedes C Class DTM it's a proof of what they are capable of. The casting execution it's perfect, and the livery with the mini D2 logos all over the car is awesome. And the RLC Chevy Silverado SS made me doubt if the M3 E30 was the best RLC of the year. I as collector can't thank them enough for such great models
I love the polls and participation from people. But we gotta stop doing “most disappointing” because people will never vote the way you’re intending and it ruins the point of it.
1:10 YAY! 4:38 YAY! 11:34 I'd have to agree. 21:10 Wish that they were in more of an accessible price range. 32:46 I have yet to find one. It takes at least 3 months before they hit Michigan. 33:14 I still have to find that one as well.
It is exciting to have all three best executed models of the year in my collection, getting Cobra R by some random opportunity was pretty much a highlight of collecting cars for me in 2022. Thanks for this great roundup of the year in 1/64 scene.
Mini GT Silvia S15 has my overall vote. I know it’s a licensed product but the level of detail in this is amazing. It’s so cool that they can fit so many sponsor decals on the car. I can see why a lot of people are saying there’s too many JDM castings. For me, I’ve always been into JDM so the more cool castings the better 😃
You and everyone else. There are some nice cars in the "Japanese Dance Music" category, but every Itasha pud puller will get an engorged organ when they see a lame '90's model of Silvia's, etc.
You try to clue people in to what "most disappointing" means every year and it never seems to work, which is unfortunate because I like the category. Maybe you need a longer title, like, "Casting-you-were-most-looking-forward-to-but-that-ended-up-sucking." I'll say this though: I can see how any casting that ended up with those engine hood cut-outs could earn "Most disappointing." Mattel needs to dispense with those ASAP.
I will always explain it, and it is ok that not everyone gets it. I actually think there might be a way to figure this out via the voting. Gonna experiment in the 2023 awards.
I beg to disagree, I won't say I speak for everybody, but at least in my case voting for citroen's thing and ford transit's was more related to: I wasn't even expecting anything from them, and still they disappoint me. I totally agree with HW Aston Martin, It's an improvement yes, but still a lack of respect to what AM is on the supercars market.
@@gigioroem Other than the lack of a number and the few very small, monochromatic sponsor logos, the paint on the GTE is identical to the race livery. I understand it's not the most attractive, but it is accurate. I think the upcoming Gulf version looks better aesthetically on the car, but it's also a bit morbid.
I was really suprised by the love for the 94 AMG MERCEDES C CLASS TOURING. I mean it's pretty cool but it's like my 3rd favorite in the whole Deutschland Design set. Maybe a different deco with different colors might make me feel differently. I'm not saying it's bad by the way. I think it's cool I'm just suprised it was that popular to do that well in the polls
Best trade I did was the classic batmobile super hunt from a few years ago for the 1990 Chevy SS454 rlc. I missed the opportunity to get the truck. I went to a local hotwheels club meeting and traded a guy for the batmobile for the truck. I own a 98 chevy truck and I'm not a diehard into batmobiles. The batmobile was worth more then the truck was so I also got a holden Monaro Boulevard out of it too. That truck is my favorite of the year.
How the hell did the R34 LBWK beat the C Class DTM? JDM hype... The damn thing has a crimson chin of a spoiler. Look at the DTM and it has clear better details.
That mustang should never be the worst. It has a drift car look although the tampo work is abit questionable. I agree on the studebaker though. The EK9 Type R was a more dissapointing one for me. The Zonda R & 911 GT3 were done well for sure. More colours upcoming for those 2. The gulf Aston Martin Vantage is better
I collect what I like, not what's popular, but Matchbox colors just plain sucks. They're "off" or look goofy on certain models. If they are doing it for a loss to the company, keep at it. It's working! 😆
I guess we have to see a lot of Liberty Walk cars from Hot Wheels in the future, i'm still waiting for the Ferrari to comeback because Tomica and Maisto are not doing some F1 and Race Cars in 1/64 but Hot Wheels actually doing it.
@@rodhalligan5136 They aren't worse but they are overrated as hell. I love them all, but we want more of everything. Muscle, Euro, Super, Trucks, Race cars, etc but JDM is such a hype train it overshadows everything like a trend. It'll die soon enough.
I actually went with the Jaguar F-Type as my favorite Super of the year. I don't know, I thought it was massively underrated. I get it, it didn't stand out as much to many people, but not enough people are showing love to these luxury coupes. I really liked the understated look myself. Not really feeling that civic at all. Mainly because of all those colors together. If you're gonna do spectraflame gold over a bright and (I mean) bright red interior, you gotta know the bronzy gold wheels just don't work. So I respectfully disagree. The Miura has some flaws (out of proportion, unpolished spectraflame orange- not a big fan of burnt orange), but I would still take it over the civic. Not only that, the Miura is my favorite Lamborghini ever. So I gotta have it.
My winner of last year was the 2 pack Johnny Lightning Baldwin Motion Camaro set of the 68 and the 73 Definitely a killer combo Please give the Johnny Lightning cars more love
Well done, was a fun 5-6 weeks with all the videos and voting, great look back at 2022 diecast. Will be an interesting 2023 with all the fire that Hot Wheels, Mini GT, Tarmac Works, Tomica , Auto World, Green Light and matchbox are all providing customers and collectors.
What about the airport tug. The first edition came out in red which you can still find on the shelves, and the second version is in the INC Livery. Two colors of that is enough. Just say the Lexus is disappointing I think you're wrong there.
For me personally, I only vote for HW and MBX that I bought personally. It makes sense to vote most disappointing on a model that you bought and didn’t care for afterwards. I don’t think, nor did I see, a lot of people buying that Range Rover, or the AMI or the Transit expecting greatness and getting less… I really like the Range Rover, but it’s not my favorite, just mid
7:40 I have the Matchbox (2016 Release) and the Hotwheels versions of the Miura, and they are EXACTLY the same casting. Maybe the reason for those bigger wheels was so the Hotwheels one wouldn't be an exact copy of the Matchbox one.
They are a little bit different, aside from the rear wheels and arches. The separation is different in the front, where in the MBX uses the windshield insert for the bumper contrast, whereas the HW uses the interior insert for this instead. The HW is also lacking a little bit of detail in the front boot ducts which is present on the MBX. The tail panel of the MBX is also different, though in this case the HW carries the greater amount of detail of the two.
Me personally,I don't like black cars, they don't show details,so am not interested in a single chase, which is a good thing as you can't find them in Europe anyway.I also don't care about the Libertywalking every single model nowadays . To me,the cars of the year are the well executed surprises, cars you didn't see coming like the M5 from the BMW set,the yellow Celica GT4 from mountain drifters or the boulevard Holden Monaro, those were epic releases.
Anyone know where is a good online store, preferably in Canada, to buy Hot Wheels from? I’ve tried in store locally, and the best you can hope for is a big box of stuff to dig through. And I don’t think my immune system could cope 😆
Ironic that the real deal of which Libery Walk is a mere facade is present in the video. The Liberty Walks are fine, I bought a bunch too, but the real racecars should be the ones getting the attention.
I think the Transit connect was disappointing with all those crazy mods done to it. I would rather it looked like the Sport version they did, clean with maybe just some racing stripes and more toned down styling.
Think that you're doing a massive disservice to the tarmac works hobby+ line. Sure its the Lancia 037 only at the moment but the detail is quite honestly hard to look past at 1/64 scale. We should begin seeing the RS200 next year fingers crossed. But if you want to talk about influential models I just don't see how you can't mention the absolutely shocking detail on the 037/hobby+ line from tarmac works.
To me the entire Matchbox Moving Parts line has been disappointing. I miss the all-metal Lesney cars from my youth with the opening doors and snap open and closed. The present day Moving Parts cars have too much plastic, and the moving parts just don't have a very solid feel.
@@CorysDieCastDen this is not just liking or not, this is a mindset, I swear some of them don’t even care about JDM cars but still vote for them because because they sound very Japan and very JDM, it’s like some kind of mindsets

I liked that Land Rover. My vote for the most disappointing was the blue Mercedes. I also voted the Honda Civic as my least favorite, the tan/brown rims look ugly and don’t do it for me. The 911 GT3 was a close second with the 935 right behind it. My favorite new basic HW was the Jeep Cherokee. The Mach-E was my choice as the most disappointing basic, due to Ford’s terrible execution and it looking like a track Mustang on a Mach-E body (Matchbox’s looks like the real street car - as they specialize in), but the ONE-11 looks like almost every other Aston Martin they’ve done! The Austin Mini was my favorite premium, 911 in close second, with the Cadillac my bottom.
I can understand the popularity of the Nissan silhouette, but i can't have any love for chases since they only killed all beauty the cars had with colors. The black hides the aspects the the cars. Only a handful cars can represent well in black colors
The 64 car rumble, unlike last year, was a battle of the brands rather than anything else. I'm surprised the Kaido House Z made it that far tbh. Blind HW fanboyism is at an all-time high, if HW would have done the Citroen Ami but as a LBWK with spectraflame paint or as a "black chase", it would have done really well in the tournement also because hw, because chase but really because resale. That's all what this is about, resale value. People continue to hype up the black Car Culture chases (especially the R34) to increase their resale value and it's exactly what's gonna happen. We live in a period when we are so spoiled with incredible 1/64 models to choose from, so many brands and in many cases at very reasonable prices (like Mini GT or TW global 64), how HW still manages to have incredible growth while significantly increasing price and nr of units made, even when offering less well made product, is pretty crazy but money rules the world.
I’m so tempted to crack my second black skyline, that was the plan when I found 3 at once, but also tempted to sell it to make up for some stuff I’ll need to give away. Traded 2 of the 5 I found overall already.
It's "most disappointing" (so something you were looking forward to but let you down) and many people didn't know, hence why a custom van won the vote. It's not necessarily a shit model, because everybody has their own tastes.
We need more jdm cars done in the trends of the day and done with a love and respect that we have seen in the last few years . I have seen millions of the other types over the years an they still insist on drowning us in lame classic muscle, classic euro cars and race decal cars ; what's needed is street tuned cars especially in the truck and car packs , I think hot wheels is missing out on making a lot of money .
sorry but what's the point of keeping the most disappointing category and always explaining to people how it should be voted and people keep having the wrong idea? even in the video you teased it a couple of times that "maybe lamley viewers love the citroen and matchbox did bad on it"... nah, people just don't like the citroen, doesn't matter if it's done correctly or not
I don't know how you give that Cadillac the nod as the best casting while overlooking that horrendous plastic spoiler. It's atrocious, and no amount of fandom for cool racing livery can make up for a chunky plastic tail that isn't even painted, just molded in hideous silvery gray. We like what we like I guess...🤔
I think the Porsche moving parts has much better door lines that the Mercedes. On the Porsche, it's not really even noticeable that the doors open; It blends seamlessly. If you actually look at the er34 lbwk it isnt near as good of a casting as many of the other premiums last year
A hot wheel le faltan por producir varios buenos modelos y entre ellos el Mitsubishi evo 8 ,pero en versión" car culture " ,saludos 👍
TLV ferrari 288 gto is so pretty
Fire 🔥❤🔥
Voting in a uglier and WAY less detailed car just because it is a chase is pathetic.
I wouldn't call it ugly but yeah, I think it won because of the fact that it's a chase and partially because of the poll structuring.
The Pagani is sick AF.
keren best diecast nya
I’m so tempted to crack my second black skyline, that was the plan when I found 3 at once, but also tempted to sell it to make up for some stuff I’ll need to give away. Traded 2 of the 5 I found overall already.
Just curious. Why would you need more than 1 loose?
@@nathancausby4406 I meant I have two sealed left as of now, and thinking of cracking one. So I’d have one sealed one loose.
2022 was a great year for Hot Wheels and LBWK partnership.
I just want more muscle!
15:53 you bag us for voting for a shit model and then don't pick one. what a cop out.
I have seen millions of the other types over the years an they still insist on drowning us in lame classic muscle, classic euro cars and race decal cars ; what's needed is street tuned cars especially in the truck and car packs , I think hot wheels is missing out on making a lot of money .
sorry but what's the point of keeping the most disappointing category and always explaining to people how it should be voted and people keep having the wrong idea? even in the video you teased it a couple of times that "maybe lamley viewers love the citroen and matchbox did bad on it"... nah, people just don't like the citroen, doesn't matter if it's done correctly or not
Yea muira fav lambo
Japanese JDM cars are cool but overrated as prices keep shooting up on it's day one release
My choice would be honda civic ek9 also bcoz of the gold color only the execution of the gold color looks awful..
Cool video mister lamley group
